I wonder why its not 7-10 and 8-9 matchups like normal seeding

More reward based for overall season. 9th and 10th place teams have to win two games and 7 and 8th only have to win one to advance.

They should expand it to 12 teams. More games is always a plus

because 9/10 seed has to win twice

7/8 seed could lose first and win second to get in

7th and 8th seeds have more of an advantage to get in this way. They can lose a game and still get in, while the 8th/9th, one lost and they're done. I love this format. I think it sets up for must see TV. I think a couple of play in teams can make a serious run in the playoffs. Might be some great future odds.

I'd like to see each series be a best out of 3 tourney. Which means 2 teams could have to play 6 games. But those could be some exciting matchups. Single elimination is so iffy in basketball. Some guy can easily get hot for one night.

It's too discourage tanking. All it's done is encourage more rest for the top seeded teams best players.

7-8 loser plays twice only has to win once. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Its not a single elimination tournament for those two.

That is precisely the point. Double elimination for 7/8 seeds, Single elimination for 9/10.

The math in the East is crazy. You actually should try to lose the 7/8 game on purpose to try to get the 8th seed because of easier path.

Knicks/Hawks is so much easier matchup than Nets/Bucks the teams should be shooting in the wrong basket if they want to win a title in Washington/Celtics game. Having like a 60% chance at the 8 seed gives you a better shot than a 100% chance at the 7.

I'm thinking Spurs over Grizz in the play-in tournament. Their speed will give the Grizz problems. But do they have heart? In the bubble last year they played as a team, whereas this year they play like any number of lottery teams; just iso'ing their two stars for midrange shots. Not all the time... they still play as a team for stretches.

That's nuts. Can't win it if you don't get in.

That said, if Wash wins, that Wiz/Nets series will be fun. Wiz won't go down easy.

Please tell me when Jordan and Kobe or LeBron were the eighth seed and won

Dominant teams and or players any sport during the season always shine in the postseason or big tournaments

    Thank you

I am trying to figure out how LaMelo is favored to win ROY. When he went down Edwards was -200 despite not playing that well. Then Edwards started dominating and his team started winning. Then Lamelo comes back for 10 games which they lose most of and now he is massive fav? Edwards is averaging like 24 a game since March and a monster on defense.

Edwards was a late bloomer this season. What good did it do his team playing well when they're already out of contention? Hornets are in the play-in because of Ball's contributions from the get-go.
