    Colt Brennan dead at 37

Colt Brennan’s Father Shares Details On Son’s Tragic Death

NEW ORLEANS - JANUARY 01: Quarterback Colt Brennan #15 of the Hawai'i Warriors looks to pass against the Georgia Bulldogs during the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome on January 1, 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
Earlier Tuesday, the college football world was saddened to learn about the passing of former Hawaii football star Colt Brennan.

The record-setting Rainbow Warriors quarterback passed away at just 37 years old. Immediately following the news of Brennan’s passing, no cause of death was known.
This afternoon his father confirmed that Brennan was a patient at a rehabilitation facility. He was found unconscious several days ago and passed away on Monday, according to a report from the Star Adviser.
“He was doing so well, the spark was back in his eyes, and he was healthy and doing great, and it happened,” Terry Brennan told the Adviser.

Here’s more of what Terry Brennan had to say:
“He had been doing really (well),” Brennan said. “These guys were no-nonsense guys. It just got away from him. I don’t know how else to explain it. Maybe one day I’ll be able to explain it better.”
His father said that Colt was surrounded by family members when he died.

“He went peacefully,” Terry Brennan said. “He listened to Bob Marley. His sisters had a lei around him when he was unconscious. They had the music of Bob Marley playing near his ear.”
Brennan spent three seasons (2005-07) with the Rainbow Warriors after stops at the JUCO level and with Colorado. He had 14,193 yards and 131 touchdowns while completing 70.4 percent of his throws.
Our thoughts are with the Brennan family.

Fentanyl related I read, so I’d say probably accidental but could be suicide

Supposedly tried to enter a rehab facility right before this and was turned away because there weren’t enough beds. So maybe he took it as a sign and said fukk it, or maybe he was trying to get high one last time and got ahold of some bad shit. It sucks either way, it always does when guys with this kind of talent die like this

Yeah this is my thought too. He very well could have had problems before his college success but it’s hard to imagine that him fizzling in the nfl so quickly didn’t play a large role in this, especially after killing it at Hawaii. I mean his name still comes up when talking about all time college records

I posted this earlier in my picks thread.

Colt Brennan dead @ 37. I use to love this guy 15 years ago watching those late night shootouts with his team back then. I remember cracking the top 15 one year winning back to back 10 plus win seasons if I remember correctly. The guy was an alcoholic who was getting arrested a couple times last year for dis-orderly conduct while intoxicated. Not a heavy drug user I believe and there’s no word on how he died exactly but his life was definitely on a downward spiral kind of like my own.

Loved watching this guy, slinging the ball all over the yard. Bows were never out of a game with his arm. He had a bad car accident that really messed him up, never could quite kick the drug habit. RIP Colt

Only 37 years old. Just incredibly fuk’in sad. Colt had a cannon of an arm.
And yes indeed, Dude was guaranteed money in those late night ‘bows games.
If not for a fuk’ed up twist of fate, he could’ve had a stellar NFL career.
    Rest easy Colt.

And we continue to demonize addicted people that need help, not jail times.

Never going to happen big pharma gets people addicted and make money then privatized prisons make money by taking away their freedom.
