    James Harden should win MVP

Brooklyn is an absolute trainwreck of a team without him.

Kyrie is overrated and Durant is a bum.

They won't win the east unless Harden carries them.

Durant is so overrated it isn't funny. Only played well in Golden State because he was the 3rd largest shooting threat on the team.

Plays worse defense than Curry as well.

Durant is coming off a big injury. This is a transition season. Durant is the most unguardable big man ever that can shoot from distance.

You want to give a guy MVP when he will have missed 40 out of 82 games?

The idea that missing games can actually show your "value" to a team as much as the games you've played is an interesting one at least. It even kinda makes sense. But yeah, I would have to guess there's no precedent for a guy missing half the season and getting MVP? Probably wouldn't happen

Nets record with Durant 18-12. 60%.

    Without Durant 25-12. 68%.

    Wow sure seems elite.

    Jokic is your MVP.
He averages a double/double pretty much on a daily basis.
How many centers play elite defense and shoot 40 percent from three?

Injury prone players should never win MVP.. Just ask Michael Jordan about that. Durability is BIG!!

Harden should definitely win Most Valuable Pervert for all the cash he drops at strip clubs across the country.

Most Valuable Player is Jokic, no contest.

Can't really blame it on D either. When he's on he can hit three's through a triple team.

So it's not the defense getting tougher, teams have thrown everything under the sun at him and tried while doing it during the past few regular seasons. He still puts up the points.

give him the award for offense but going way too far with elite defense he's out of position a lot, in fact I can make the case that he's horrible on defense. he's 7 feet and avg .7 blocks per game the same as fred vanvleet

That's not a bad point but for MVP D won't matter in the face of those stats.

    But your not wrong.

A little bit of of prep and teams can expose him...

He won zero in okc and hasn’t won anything except with Golden state, all he can do is shoot, he has not ability to finish in the paint because he’s too thin, he’s the most overrated player of this era.

The idiots in the media blamed everything that went wrong in okc on Westbrook, no one is covering for him anymore dumb shit.

Shut up dumb shit, they have only played too 10 teams in the league, Harden is good but he’s not the mvp. Curry is the mvp by a mike, without Curry the Warriors would be one of the five worst teams in the league.

LOL. Morino comes in this thread and pollutes it with his trash. I think we’ll align with Lakerboy and his perspective on a player over a guy that’s down over 150 units in NBA in only 9 months.

LITTLE MO, get back to your abortion of a thread and clean up those unit counts ass munch.

agree with you and nash. it will be Joker. he is playing really well.

however, you do see how bad the nets look with 2 other superstars not able to make Harden's impact.

you also see how bad the Lakers are without James, even with Davis playing as the main option, though Davis is working himself back into game shape.

Based on this logic, Lebron should be MVP every year. Guy has taken Cleveland and LA from worst team in the league to Championships just by joining the team. Guy went to like 8 straight finals or something like that. They are defending champions, and are atrocious when he is not playing. Harden never won shit.

The problem with those guys is they just didn't play enough. If Jokic was hurt we would be saying the same thing about how bad the Nuggets are without him

I don’t want it to get ridiculous with too many awards, not trying to give every player trophy, but maybe there should be an NBA player of the year and then also an MVP who is most valuable to his team.

Fans would never get the literal mvp definition though.

Maybe they should give a weekly MVP game ball and then add it up at the end of the season and give an award to whoever had the most weekly game balls.

I mean, the idea isn’t unheard of.

What most fans don't get is the operative word in MVP is 'valuable'

Ernie Banks was valuable to his Cubs, so was Ralph Kiner to his Pirates as they were the two most valuable players to their teams, but the Pirates and Cubs were pretty much dead last teams.

In 1972 Steve Carlton won 27 games (46 percent of his teams wins) for a 59 and 97 Phillies team that finished dead last.
    How valuable was Carlton?
They still would have finished dead last but with 110 losses, not 97.
