My opinion is that the old line used to be beatable by simpler techniques. Go read some of Cokin's old articles. He actually wrote about some of the angles he used, and they held up pretty well.

My opinion is that there is a lot more info baked into the modern line. Dave has the gift of gab. No way do I believe that's enuf to beat the house. Only group that would have a chance to beat the house over time is a Benter-type group that's assembling information and generating a # superior to the one being posted. And that's not Cokin, just my two-cents.

Another two I am tracking from wagerline are 26 and 43 so far in mlb.

Cokin always made a point of saying that he always personally bet every game he gave out. It was Dave's way of saying that he was legit.

Well, that's true, he did bet it. But the ticket-writers started leaking info that he was a $10 and $20 bettor. Literally, min-bet or just above it.

Dave didn't like that. So, he stopped betting local. Took his game online, to avoid the ridicule.

Do you feel the same about stocks? Do you think an investor needs all the info to beat the rest of the market?

What about the concept of index funds and market direction? Have you seen the KVB MLB Contrarian Backbone chart?

Sports and stocks have a lot more in common that you might think, including broader market movement and manipulation. There may not be a need to "out info" the house when we all have the same information.

It was never about the information, it's about how you use that information.

Plus one can't be certain what sports these numbers reflect, since the guys bet across multiple leagues.

My answer would be that if u BACK A WAYS in time, yes, Dave had some good years.

Even in more recent years, I know he had a very good win% on a LIMITED # of games. >60% on like 100 games or less.

Does he consistently churn a profit vs MODERN lines? I'd be very surprised. Much more skill on the gift of gab and keeping his radio gig.

So, I get a call from a Feist henchman. At the time, there were stories that Feist was dating a woman named Roz Juarbe. She was also on the tout show. Good-looking, at least 20 years younger than Feist.
