    for tv shows and movies in HDR they can't be beat because of their true blacks/infinite contrast ratio. that's why video enthusiasts love them so much for their critical viewing needs (they use to feel the same way about plasmas until they were discontinued)

    if your vast majority of viewing is just sports though, then an LCD will suffice as long as it handles motion well and has decent enough blacks
