this stuff has been beaten to death in Philly, seems like there's an article or two that come out like this every offseason:

In the quarterback room, when his errors were pointed out, Wentz would sometimes make irrelevant excuses and Taylor wouldn’t correct him. For instance, there would be a play when he didn’t throw to an open receiver. The read was drawn up as designed, the coverage played out as expected, and he would be asked why he didn’t pull the trigger. And Wentz would say the look wasn’t there, or he would overemphasize the pass rush, and when it was suggested the play be run again in practice as to get it right, he would object.
By the bye week, Wentz had been sacked an NFL-high of 32 times. A coaching analysis deemed the quarterback responsible for almost two-thirds. Around the break, one offensive lineman had gone to management and requested a switch to Hurts. “Everyone believed Carson had no clue about when to get the ball out on time,” a source said, “and as a result made his [O-line] look terrible in times they were playing fine.”

He'll probably kill it in Indy. They have all the pieces. What does this do to their salary cap though and who will they lose to FA?

He won't be worse than dead arm Rivers. Colts are much better overall than Eagles. If he fukks up this year as well, then he is officially a bust. He is not one yet.

hell, I could post what my neighbor has heard (works for NFL Films) about Wentz, which is far worse, but that's strictly anecdotal.

With a rookie coach, no Ertz, Hurts at QB, Fox has confirmed that eagles will get Dick Stockton for all games next year

Seems to always happen that way.

I really liked what Hurts brought to the table the last four starts he had.

Pretty sure that his salary just counts against their overall cap room which is non-existent. They are already over the cap and will need to make cuts just to get under. Goff and Wentz are inextricably intertwined yet again - first with the draft, then with contracts, and finally with their dead cap hits. Goff is the second largest hit in NFL history at 22.2 M.

Just say "watch Hurts get hurt now." We all know you wanted to. It was right there on your fingertips and you thought you were too cool to submit such a line so you you pivoted to "injured" instead. Well I got news for you buddy, you're not too cool. That's right, you're not too cool for said statement so get off your high horse and take the layup.

    Wentz career 89.2 qbr
    Trubisky career 87.2 qbr

Trubisky wouldn't cost a 1st & 2nd round pick plus he's more mobile then Wentz and probably has a stronger arm too. Reich knows Wentz and I don't know if Trubisky could play at Wentz's 2017 level but Wentz may not be able to get it back either. He was pure dogshit all year. I had them at Cleveland and they came out running the ball pretty well and were leading or tied I think in 2Q.....then Wentz has a guy about 20 yards away on a playaction to his left and he's staring that way too then for some unknown reason he lollipops a ball out in the left flat instead for one of the dumbest pick 6s I've ever seen. I'm in Indy and excited but scared as well

Cowherd just said Philly got worked in that deal.

Maybe, maybe not but Cowherd is the best in the business right now.

for me this actually makes cowherd looks pretty stupid

there was no other offer out there and this was a divorce between the player and team with no chance of reconciliation whatsoever. It will likely turn out to be a 1st and a 3rd for easily one of the worst QBs in the league last year. Cowherd might have a point if anyone else was interested but they weren't. Indy probably could have scaled back the deal and waited it out and got him for less.

Like I said, maybe, maybe not.
I always respect what Cowherd says though
    His opinions are always interesting.
IHe made some very good points, but I did disagree with some.
Like how could Philly have gotten worked if Wentz is damaged goods?
Listen to the whole segment though, he was solid even if one thinks he was wrong.

QB ratings are funky as hell imo. I just saw Wentz rated 18th in 2019 and he had 27/7 ratio with 4k passing yds (63.9%). He played every game. He had some fumbles, but thats pretty good imo. That doesn't seem average to below average to me?

Indianapolis Colts QB Carson Wentz is out indefinitely as he undergoes further testing on a foot injury that he suffered at the end of Thursday's practice, sources told Mike Wells and Adam Schefter.

He gets hurt a lot. This could just be a minor thing. But there can be reasons why he gets hurt alot. He stays in the pocket to complete plays or tries dam hard to make it happen where another QB would maybe give up. Can't knock a guy that goes all-out.

He stays in the pocket too long because he recognizes reads and open receivers too late. He’s looking for receivers to get open like they are in college. It doesn’t happen and instead he gets mauled.

Colts have a great oline and running game. That is a tailor-made situation for a QB to have success. Whoever they plug in there will do alright.
