So I use the Bitcoin Core 'wallet'.

Having sent some money 40 hours ago I'm still waiting for transaction for confirm. It said '24 hours' on the tooltip at the time of sending, which I know is only an 'estimate'.

    1) What's the longest anyone had to wait after using '24 hours' in bitcoin core? 5-6 days? 2 weeks? What's my course of action if I need the money by Friday?

    2) Is there a way to speed things up, after I already clicked 'send' and the transaction is out there looking for a block to join?

Why is it taking so long for my transaction to confirm? If you have sent a transactionwithout (or with an exceptionally small) transaction feeexpect it to be ignored for an unknown amount of time until a miner decides to process it and solves the block; this could be several days to several weeks, possibly never. Your wallet and any Bitcoin node will show it as unconfirmed, your transaction is stuck in limbo.

Malik, this has happened to me b4...when I used a fee that was too low.

Have u ever used a Bitcoin accelerator? PS, also might process if u just wait a little longer.

You need to make sure to remove -zapwallettex suffix the next time you launch the qt wallet!

I try to never go cheaper than '1 hour' if I use qt wallet/Bitcoin core. Bitcoin becomes popular by the day and fees skyrocketing, miners been very busy and need to eat too!

Update: zapwallettex worked as advertised. It took an hour to rescan, then another 8 hours (instead of 20 minutes I thought I'm paying for) to resend the transaction. When doing it like this, be prepared for a delay no matter how high your fee is this second time.

In general I think it's much better to just pay max fee and get it within an hour every single time. Doing rescan etc is not recommended and can be slow.

Litecoin is very fast and very low fees.
    Most books accept it.

Also if you have to hold it in your wallet, I think LTC will appreciate in the next few months.

If you prefer to have bitcoin.

Is it a good idea to use litecoin for deposit and withdrawal for a sportbook and then convert it to bitcoin in an exchange?

No, at least not on most exchanges because of fees

I think like 1% mostly I never really do it though. I guess if a couple hundred could be better but for a decent amount you are better off paying btc send fees than convert.

    Probably you are right.

About the deposits in a sportbook i don't have problem because i can send bitcoin with low fees.

But when i asked a withdrawal from a sportbook they don't care how much fees you will pay.
I had withdrawals with 20%-45% fees.

That's why i am looking for alternatives like litecoin to reduce the fees from the withdrawals.

Even if i pay that 1% to convert litecoin to bitcoin as you understand the difference for me is very big.

I like what I'm hearing here about LTC, but it sucks that blockchain wallet does not support it. What wallet have you guys been using? BTW I don't need a wallet with an option to buy LTC, just need it to hold LTC and move it from book to book.

local bitcoin sends with fee of around $3 was lower like $2.50 earlier in week and they confirm within half an hour. when sending 1 input and 1 or 2 max outputs and it confirms within half hour with $3 or so anything else have fun waiting unless your paying $10

I bought back at a higher price as soon as this broke news with Elon Musk buying in for big. Follow the billionaires I always say. It's not rocket science!! They are billionaires for a reason.

When I caught wind of Musk buying big and that making the news I bought immediately knowing that would drive up the price. I may sell off again soon. Riding the wave for now. Truth Pablo..
