    I remember reading an article in DRF decades ago, before simulcasting. A mutuel clerk bet something like $20 on the chalk in the first race, doubled in the second race when it lost and kept doubling every race, figuring that the chalk had to win one race on the card. After going 0 for 9, he was down 10 grand and had no choice but to tell his boss what he did and got fired; I'm wondering if that was jj.
