Small strokes fell great oaks... Nothing major happens overnight whether that be something great like building a biz, or on the other end of the spectrum going from sobriety to becoming an addict again.
Im not gonna preach at ya because frankly I dont give af. As a fellow addict I can empathize with your struggle. Throw away the calendar tho, the 690 days dont mean shit and never did. Just gives you a false sense of achievement and sets you for a night with 2 pints of beer. Damn that dopamine rush feels nice.
Another few hookers and another few pints, you’re on top of the world. Back to where you were before you became homeless as a result of your addiction

Wasn't much of a rush. Certainly nothing that makes me desire it again. Alcohol is boring. If I took some opiates, though and had access to more, it be a nightmare relived. Hopefully I never return to that place. I cannot handle the psychological withdrawal again.
