one time i had it go over 4 hours but mostly its been within 15 minutes for me. did you check to see how many confirmations your transaction has?

What's interesting and I have no idea if one is related to another, when I sent from Coinbase to Edge, it took maybe 20 minutes for the first confirmation to show. It's the Edge to sportsbook transaction that hasn't had one conformation since 2pm EDT yesterday.

If I am sending and it took that long I would cancel it. Market could fluctuate a lot in this amount of time and maybe it has gone up??? There is absolutely no reason these transactions cannot be prompt.

for now you need to send 210 sat for under 20 mins there are over 115000 unconfirmed transaction

i have 2 bitcoin sends coming to me on my LocalBitcoins.com wallet... One from Betonline (8 hours now) and one from Nitrogen (3 hours now). No confirmations.. this seems pretty rare, both the send fees are decent, not sure wtf is going on

I use mempool.observer to see how many unconfirmed transactions. Right now there's an insane 124,000.

If you use blockchair.com it will tell you where your transaction ranks in priority.

The only free accelerator worth a damn is the viabtc. But you have to be quick since they only allow 100 per hour. So be ready at the top of the hour

Yes - if you're using a wallet which allows you to customize the fee before sending (not all wallets do),
you check current estimated fees to be higher up the in priority of next blocks to be processed.

Warning though, be sure you don't make a mistake because doing this "Customize your fees" it is possible to include a much higher fee than you really wanted to. But as other posters pointed out, check current fee levels at https://bitcoinfees.net/

Although you cannot cancel a transaction that you already sent,
there is a more advanced method known as Replace By Fee, or RBF.
I wouldn't recommend a novice trying to do this. It can be researched for those who want.

Again, the best course of action is to check the:
1. Mempool Size,
2. Mempool Transaction Count,
3. Current estimated fees levels

...before sending, and then customize your fee accordingly.

Alternatively, if the Mempool is too congested and fees too high, consider being patient and waiting for tomorrow / the next day to see if the situation has improved at all with the bitcoin network.

This transaction was from this morning. It's the most I ever paid for Priority on Blockchain. Maybe the fee is high only because BTC is high. Confirmed in 10 minutes.

Here's another thought, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) or Ethereum (ETH) or Litecoin (LTC) usually send much quicker, with lower fees

Discover how to transact with altcoins, and if the receiver is able to accept those in the future

Ethereum transfers are so much better for fast confirmations. Great alternative for payouts if your book offers it.
