    fukin whack a mole

at this point, can't we use our brains and just realize that we are shutting down big $ and entertainment for all of America

over concern that some people may have the sniffles or nothin

I don't recall us ever canceling games due to the MRSA infections, and that has almost killed players

With the Giants set to take the field tonight to play the 49ers, their tight end Daniel Fells is facing a far more serious battle.

Fells has been hospitalized for more than a week as he battles a persistent Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection that necessitated being placed in the Intensive Care Unit on Friday. He's since been moved to a private room to have a nurse focus solely on his care.

Fells has had five surgeries, according to a person with knowledge of his condition. More are coming, as doctors try to stave off further infection. As of Saturday night, they were fighting to save his foot, which is at risk given the nature of the infection.

He was placed on Injured Reserve this week, and it remains to be seen if he'll ever play again.

The Buccaneers had an outbreak among three players and now faces a lawsuit from former kicker Lawrence Tynes, who claims that unsanitary conditions at the teams facilities caused him to become infected with MRSA, which required multiple surgeries and six weeks of intravenous antibiotics to cure. Tynes says this infection has ended his career, costing him over $20 million in anticipated future earnings.
It’s not just the NFL that has been plagued by MRSA infections. A college player at Lycoming College died from an MRSA infection in 2003. Several prominent NBA players have also had difficult infections.

NFL is teetering... Goodell doesn’t have the power to shut it down like other commissioners but the schedule getting tighter and tighter. They should just play.

They gotta have that 18th week, get rid of Pro Bowl.

How does an NFL team work virtually? lol

i see both sides of cancelling vs not cancelling. the nfl is doing the same thing as the mlb. mlb had 2 squads in case covid spread in the 1st squad but never used the 2nd squad and postponed games. now the nfl does the same when rosters have backups and practice squads. just play with who is healthy before game time. you can't keep assuming every single person has it after a positive test and cancelling games like this. do the contact tracing and go from there.
