Best bets for PGA Tour: CJ Cup at Shadow Creek ⛳

Best bets for PGA Tour: CJ Cup at Shadow Creek

    ESPN INSIDER ($ MATERIAL)

The PGA Tour stays in Las Vegas for an additional week, as the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek was moved from South Korea due to the pandemic.

Who is underrated, and whom should you fade? What bets and props are worth a look?

Sports betting analyst Chris "The Bear" Fallica and fantasy analyst Anita Marks offer their best bets.

Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill unless otherwise noted.

    Bets to win

    Justin Thomas 10-1; +110 Top-10 finish

Fallica: JT always seems to play well in these limited-field events. Sure, the contest is on a new course, but it wouldn't be a shock to see Thomas defend his title.
    Rory McIlroy 12-1; +138 Top-10 finish

Fallica: McIlroy finished T-8 at the U.S. Open, and his past three events seem to indicate he is trending in the right direction. It's just a matter of time before he wins again, and this could be the week.

Xander Schauffele 12-1; Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay 220-1 to finish 1-2 (at DraftKings)

Marks: Schauffele loves the big stage. He plays better golf when the field is popping, and this week it is. He loves Vegas, spends a lot of time in Sin City and should light up Shadow Creek. Schauffele ranks 20th in strokes gained tee to green, ranks first around the greens and is sixth in putting this season. My gut says this should be the week he wins.

    Abraham Ancer 40-1, +350 Top-10 finish

Fallica: Ancer finished fourth last week. He also had some early-season success last year. (See his T-8 finish in the WGC.) He was a top-20 player on tour last year, and he could be one to watch for a breakthrough win this season.

    Prop bets

    Schauffele +125 Top-10 finish; -200 Top-20 finish

Fallica: Schauffele has put together four top-10s and seven top-20s in his past nine starts, which have included majors and limited-field, no-cut events. Well, here we are again. He always seems to do enough to work himself into contention only to come up short of victory. So let's focus on the minor awards here.

    Matthew Wolff +200 Top-10 finish

Marks: Wolff is striking the ball well right now. He lost in a playoff last week after posting a career-low 61 last Saturday. Wolff is coming in hot, with impressive metrics you need to win on this track: third in strokes gained tee to green and fifth in approach.

Joohyung Kim +138 Top-40 finish (at DK)

Marks: This is a fun one for you. The 18-year-old has five pro victories already! This will be his third PGA Tour start; he made the cut at his previous two -- the Safeway and Punta Cana this season. Kim, a self-proclaimed "golf nerd" who started playing at age 5, is a huge Tiger Woods fan. And Kim's father is a golf pro. I'll be rooting for the golf prodigy.

Corey Conners top Canadian finisher (+188 at DK)

Marks: Conners is striking the ball as well as anyone. He ranks in the top 50 this season in strokes gained tee to green and approach. If he can find a putting stroke this weekend, watch out. Mackenzie Hughes and Adam Hadwin are his biggest Canadian threats.

    2-player matchup

Justin Thomas over Brooks Koepka (+125 at DK)

Marks: JT loves teeing it up in fall weather, sporting 13 wins during the fall season. Brooks has been on the shelf for 8 weeks, dealing with injuries, and typically utilizes pre Master tournaments to tweak his game.

3-player matchup parlay (+562 at DK)

    Daniel Berger over Tyrrell Hatton

Hatton will be jet-lagged flying in from across the pond.

    Wolff over Collin Morikawa

Morikawa was off last week in driving the ball and putting.
    Viktor Hovland over Harris English

English missed the cut last week; his game is struggling.
