    Email scams.. WATCH OUT!!

I'm seeing more and more email scams coming in to my hotmail.com and Yahoo.com email accounts!!!

Amazon account warnings is big right now with incoming fraud emails. They try to get your personal information.. Just log into Amazon directly and check it out if you are concerned and ignore those incoming emails.. Don't buy into the emails you get!!!

    Chase banking as well..

Don't buy into it people when you open it up as an incoming email.. Best way to see if it's fraud is to look closely at the internet email address at the top as it comes in. Tell mom and dad as well about this!!!

If it's not just exactly the banking address then it's bogus.

Don't even open a warning you get with a behind payment or your account is compromised email if you get!!

Call you credditor directly if you are concerned. Most likely it's all BS.. It's running wild right now..

Can get calls as well on the tele... IRS scam callers trying to get identity theft also.. Question everything that comes to you directly these days out of the blue.. Just hang up tele calls or ignore emails as it's usually FRAUD!!! Call back directly to credditors if concerned..

Identity theft scams running wild with Covid now..

That's why I started this thread.. Just trying to help out others on SBR.. That's all.. The elderly getting hit hard as they believe everything.

My G'ma has been getting scam calls like non-stop. Luckily, she is still sharp enough to just hang up.

If you are an elderly person with a landline, you are target #1.

    pos scammers
Definitely POS scammers, preying on the elderly.

I get calls too, just like everyone does. With everybody's info on the web, like you said it only takes 1 or 2 out of a thousand. Some of it is downright comical if it wasn't so sad.

They really like to target the elderly though, because the elderly are not used to 2020 technology. In their day, people were honest for the most part. Makes me sick. I wish the government could do more, but what are they gonna do?

I really feel sorry for those that do get scammed.

I agree. They should put something on the books, although i think a lot of the calls originate overseas, etc.

To anybody out there today, just warn your parents and grandparents (maybe even great-grandparents if your still lucky enough to have them.)

I guess there is something on the books (mail/wire fraud), but it needs to be enforced.

My mom of 82 years old got a call on her hard line just last month to remove prime on her Amazon account as she was told she was being double charged for it, the scammer was having my mom basically install a program on her computer to hack her Amazon account to send all Amazon account information directly to the hacker. Luckily I was around and over heard what was going on and I put a stop to it at the last minute.

I said mom DON'T ever do that!! Never take calls like that seriously, EVER!!! That could have been a disaster..

They do love to scam the elderly..

Some dipshit that works for me answered to a gift card scam email... they emailed him from a dummy email with my name and he didn’t check the spelling on the address... $3k in gift cards sent to Baghdad. They ask you to scratch off the back and send. Dumb shit.

Hey Jibbby - my long lost grandpa, is the former king of pubescestan (a small clit north of Russia). He was overthrown by a mob carrying dildos and is currently in a prison cell surrounded by KY Jelly. He has $30 Million + holded up in several accounts. We need to transfer this money asap into another account before the lube dries. Can you please send me your cc so I can pay the interest owned on the accounts. I'll then send you half of his money in $100 bills wrapped in prophylactics.

I got a new one the other day

Somebody called and said they were from the "health department" and they were doing "contact tracing"

They said someone I had contact with had developed something called the "coronavirus" and that I need to "quarantine" and monitor my health for "symptoms"

    Can you believe that crap???
They were so serious about it

I laughed at them and told them I was too smart for them

What will they think of next???
