Dominic Thiem a class act, hope he wins today......

Hard to believe he's already 27. Has made $24M in prize money and can lock down another $3M if he wins today.
Perhaps equal to him would be the first slam title.

Zverev is a very talented youngster but he'll have many other chances as he's younger than thiem

    let's go Dom !!!

This is the worst US Open Men's Final in the last 30 years. No one will watch it.

Let me guess your dumbass woulda preferred a washed up Federer vs. an injured Nadal final right? Or maybe you wanted a black Tiafoe in there right? Instead of two guys that are prime right now and hungry for a title. Fed, Nadal and Djoker won't be around forever. Then what? Sampras and Agassi retired at one point too and tennis moved on. New stars emerge. The only thing people won't be watching today is that whack clippers nugs game.

Pavy, There have been less intriguing matchups (arguably) in the last 3 decades:

2014 CRO Marin Čilić JPN Kei Nishikori 6–3, 6–3, 6–3
2003 USA Andy Roddick ESP Juan Carlos Ferrero 6–3, 7–6(7–2), 6–3

    1997 AUS Patrick Rafter GBR Greg Rusedski 6–3, 6–2, 4–6, 7–5
    1998 AUS Patrick Rafter AUS Mark Philippoussis 6–3, 3–6, 6–2, 6–0

don't worry, i am here to assist with the history

Actually last match IMO was more Medvedev playing like a dumbass. He served for the 2nd and 3rd and blew it.IMO this match is going to come down to Zverevs serve. At 3-1 I'd take a stab at Z.If he can get to say 20 aces he might win.

Medvedev blew the semi...up break late in 2 and 3 set

But I agree, Theim is a good dude, fresh face

...and my pick in Shari's contest

Assuming he wins today that's $27M in prize money over 7 years on the ATP tour not even counting challengers & futures he played 3 years earlier. As great he is that's less than 3M a year. Consider this, the GOAT Roger Federer has $130M in career earnings in 20 years(endorsements not withstanding) Prince Fielder retired cuz of a neck injury halfway into the 2016 season & still made $120M from 2016 to 2020 cuz of his guaranteed contract. Bottom line is this, no big time athletes are more underpaid than tennis players.

May be the worst bet I ever made. Zverev can barely beat Carreno but can crush Thiem? Come on.
