Many people don’t think the cop did anything wrong. They can somehow justify shooting someone 7 times in the back.
What does it have to do with sports you ask? It has everything to do with sports. Sports is a microcosm of society. Jessie Owens sticking it to Hitler by winning 4, I think gold medals, when he said black people were inferior. Muhammad Ali refusing to fight a war in some far away place when he had more problems with people in his own country. Or 2 black athletes raising their fists in protest as they received their Olympic medals. People hated them for doing that back in the day. People hated Ali. People hate change and they get uncomfortable when someone forces them to think.
Question. Are you afraid of the police? Would you be leery to call them if needed? Now, imagine if you were in sheer terror at the though of an officer pulling you over for a simple traffic stop. What if you were so afraid to call the police right after your house got robbed so you just let it go. Some of these athletes face those fears every day, even behind gated communities.

and I know for sure that it was because my plates were from the North.
I didn't think I was going to get shot, but it was well known back in the day that the South hated people from the North

i lived in LA when the LAPD Rampart division was planting drugs/evidence on minorities. They specifically targeted successful black, Hispanic and Asian people. They even killed some in cold blood. Go look up the THOUSANDS of people who were targeted. I met a Hispanic man that told me he spent 4 years in jail because of rampart. They totally ruined his life. He had a great job, made good money and was preparing to get married. His fiancé left him, his family deserted him. Even his mother didn’t believe him because the evidence was so overwhelming. The thing that hurt him the most was not spending time in jail but that his mom died before he was exonerated. That man had me in tears. LA county settled with him for several million dollars but people still don’t totally believe in him.
A white guy does and has been shot for resisting arrest and reaching in his car clown. No i don't get all these protests. Quit fuking resisting arrest. Don't care wtf color you are. I believe the cop walks and no charges will be filed. IF it’s true the black guy was reaching for a knife or if there even was a knife visible the cop had good reason to shoot, that’s the law not my opinion. Also I have not heard one fact that the guy actually got shot 7 times, it’s reported the cop fired 7 times but that doesn’t mean he had 7 hits. It’s a game now as to when to release the truth, but it will come out

The boycotts are to RAISE AWARENESS dummy.
Nobody said boycotting a game would solve world racism, hunger, or cure cancer.
It's about raising awareness. Obviously if you are part of a profession which places you on TV and dominates ratings, you have a platform to promote and advertise.
They are using the platform to promote equal treatment of black and white people by police and hoping that by making a unified stand that there will be more consequences for poor policing.
First step to change is knowing there is a problem.
But if you had half a brain youd know this.
