    Attention MLB Over bettors

Two wind conditions you may want to factor before wagering today.

    Cubs at Reds.

Game is in Cincinnati (Not Wrigley)
Winds are going to be blowing out all day over 10 mph.
Great All American Ball Park is a band box to begin with, balls don't need wind help to leave that stadium, not to mention it's going to be temps over 90 degrees all day, humid too making it feel like over 100 degrees.
Both teams have heavy hitters and the Reds lineup hits LHP hard.

    https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/gr...cast/43036_poi

Over 10 must be considered in this game.
(doesn't mean I'm saying to bet it, I am just saying it's a wagering consideration)

    Mon 7/27 907 Chicago Cubs -1½ +140 o10 -105
    6:40PM 908 Cincinnati Reds +1½ -150 u10 -105

    White Sox at Indians

Game is at Cleveland (Progressive Field)
It's going to be gusty all night in Cleveland by Lake Erie and the winds will be gusting out over 20 mph at times.
Like Cincinnati and Cubs bot teams (White Sox and Indians) have thumpers who can hit home runs without the winds blowing the ball out.
Like Cincinnati also it's going to be hot and humid as well making this game a potential 8-6 affair.

    https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/pr...cast/31816_poi

Over 9.5 must be considered in this game.
(doesn't mean I'm saying to bet it, I am just saying it's a wagering consideration)

Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Indians
    Mon 7/27 919 Chicago White Sox +1½ -170+2½ -250-1½ +175-2½ +270+1 -128 +115 o9½ -110o10 +110o9 -140o10½ +125o8½ -165 o4½ +100 u4½ -120

Sure is Molly, the very definition of a 'dime piece'

And thank you for the words, I appreciate it, but this is who I am, it's what I do, no need for thanks I like doing this as I am a bona fide geek.

Good luck to you and everybody today.

Actually Gold, I have compelling evidence to the contrary for some conditions, more than 15 years worth of recent data.

But, damn, I'll admit the margins are catching up.

It's not the free for all it used to be. It's true for MLB and it's true for NCAAF.

A couple years ago I started to post a NCAAF Total Fund where the weather factors were used to adjust my raw forecast. It was just too much. We had some crazy weather weekends, and there were so many plays. Posting was too difficult so I quit posting it. Just then, it went on a run...lol.

    Can't post everything.

In football especially, it's hard to predict 5,6,7 days out..
Baseball, somewhat easier but still hard to predict 24 hrs out..
Projected 25 mph winds could end up being a breeze and vice-versa..
Might be the last thing they take into consideration..
Stadium vs stadium would be a better gauge maybe..
    I dunno, just my thoughts..
    Anything can happen..

Oddsmakers, especially in football, have to guess the weather ahead of time by quite a bit and in baseball a big part can be wind which varies, not just in direction, but speed.

It's the bookmakers who have to deal with the countdown towards game time, where the weather gets more cemented.

For heat, like some fall football, it can be a little more predictable, not like the wind crossing the stadiums.

Anymore, oddsmakers and bookmakers are the same, with the exception of of vegas originators and copycat sites.

My point about the bookmakers is that you have to remember it's not just about the weather, it's about the number. The same for the player.

It's when it all lines up that there has been an edge to be had, sometimes it materializes unexpectedly in the other direction as the book goes too far.

    Sometimes.

Exactly, such specific weather is stadium by stadium but knowing the weather at the opener is tough. Often it doesn't change much, even for the week up to a football game, but there are those times.

    7-1 bottom of the sixth.
Looks like Reds will get a bottom of the ninth at bat.
Need two runs in three plus innings.

    Stay tuned.

Reds didn't play Moose (minor injury) last night either.
With Moose in the lineup that line up is feared.
If the Reds new pitchers step up they can be very dangerous team.

OK check me out around 1pm.
I need to go over today's games.
