Toronto, Edmonton on verge of being named NHL hub cities! NHL is BACK!

    https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...hl-hub-cities/

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...es-for-nhl-re/
Get ready for an all-Canadian party when the NHL resumes its season with a 24-team playoff.

According to an industry source, both Toronto and Edmonton have been all-but-approved as the two hub cities to host the teams for the NHL’s return from the COVID-19 pause.

“Nothing’s official yet,” the source said, on the condition of anonymity.

Both the league and its players’ union talked into the early hours of Canada Day to iron out return-to-play details, COVID-19 protocols and other issues, that if agreed upon, would result in an extension to the current collective bargaining agreement.

They are too scared to play in the US. Most Europeans said they would not play in the USA.
Korea and Japan has pro baseball, 100 pro soccer games in Europe and now NHL hockey in Canada.
Let's see now................. Americans can watch horses and cars racing this July 4th. So no sports at all.
I wonder if anybody wonders why???

Yeah, USA a no go for too many. Edmonton is a great location for NHL under the circumstances. Not sure I get why they picked Toronto as well.

Stay away from Alberta, we don't want these outsiders from the US causing our numbers to surge again!

This is one return I am looking forward too.

I don't think there is any more exciting playoffs from the major sports than the NHL playoffs.

Some things come close, but even the college post season doesn't compare.

NHL Playoffs are just an edgy event with non stop action.

I think it is the only sport that has a chance to play and finish. We'll see?

It was weird when Buffer would yell "Let's get Ready to Rumble" or announce a fighter's name and then have no crowd response in the UFC.

Having the fights on in the background, I never did get you used to that odd sound, or lack thereof.

When I see a schedule, then I assume a league is serious. How long have they been screwing around?

Schedule is all we are waiting for now. Also site of Stanley Cup Finals, although my guess there is it will go to hub of highest seed. Regardless, there will be no travel, entire Finals will be at either Toronto or Edmonton.

Spike of COVID-19 cases in Las Vegas did concern the NHL, Bill Daly confirms.

Ultimately, it took Vegas from front-runner to out of the picture.

NHLPA special assistant to the executive director / retired player Mathieu Schneider said world championship model of families joining later in the tournament formed the basis of this compromise to have families not join until conference finals in Edmonton.

If the defending Stanley Cup Champions can't defend their title on home ice then screw all this and just throw in the towel.

My blues disagree, they don’t care where they defend it!
