Most contemporary NBA players said they "feared" facing Bryant.

Never heard that really about Duncan throughout his career.

You can put aside all stats, awards, and titles (of which Kobe is much more accomplished than Duncan anyway, more 1st teams all NBA, defensive 1st teams, more all stars, better stats)....when you heard from players about who they feared going against, that's really all you need to know...

Magic himself said Bryant was the best Laker ever. And yet he's at 9? Just a joke. Duncan even being a top 10 player is a joke. Guy played on a Spurs team full of Hall of Famers whle Kobe won b2b rings with Pau as his second best player and Odom as his 3rd.

Kobe beat more 50+ win teams in the playoffs than any other player in history.

James at 2 is a tragedy. That's saying if he never played another game he'd retire at number 2? There's no fukking way. I think James will be 2 when it's all said and done, but there's no fukking way he deserves that spot right now. If he doesn't win 1 more ring, he's still behind Kobe in my book.

F you talking about? Kevin Garnett a top 10 player in the history of the NBA? Nash and Stockton? Lmao. Bro Stockton wasn't even the 10th best player on the dream team. That's just one era. Wtf are you smoking. Steve Nash 2 MVPs is the biggest digrace in the history of basketball. Guy wasn't even close to Zeke or Chris Paul. Never played a lick of D in his life.

Yes Duncan was better than Bryant. Bryant had Shaq, Duncan had David Robinson. Did more with less.

Russell over Bird (and Olajuwon) seems laughable to me. Glorified Ben Wallace?

    Jordan
    Russell
    Magic
    Bird
    Alcindor

Should be the correct top 5. NBA changed the rules to slow down Kareem, they changed the rules to help LeBron. That's a world of a difference in terms of prohibiting a legend and manufacturing one

Recency Bias. Shaq, Duncan, Bryant are not Top 10.
Not saying FG and 3P are everything (especially with Russell)

    10. Elvin Hayes* 10976
    11. Hakeem Olajuwon* 10749

    It's all subjective.
But did someone mention KG should be in the top 10 list? Yes, he was a part of a phenomenal "big three" but top 10 all-time? No way!

You would think a still active player that already has two NBA finals MVP awards, two defensive player of the year awards, an All Star MVP award under his belt already all by the age of 28 would sniff at least a mention?

You're right, because to be a top 10 all time great you have to have been w the Lakers or Celtics.

JFC man, there's 28 other teams out there w rosters and history and trophies.

those top 6 are the top 6 on almost any list you ever see......... in no specific order: wilt, russell, lebron, mj, magic, kareem........ seemingly a big dropoff to #7 on every list.

kobe is so overrated...... his shooting efficiency is terrible. not even that good for his era.

i think oscar and steph curry are underrated.

not a magic fan, but he was an absolutely amazing player.

but statistically there's no much arguing this........ as for the "cast in stone" top 6, almost all lists have those 6 players as top 6.. and as for lakers bias, 3 of the top 6 players moved to the lakers AFTER already being the best player in the game.

if you want someone who was screwed...... wilt didn't get MVP (and it wasn't that close) on 50 and 28 stat line. lost to russell with 19 ppg average.
