The NBA isn't going to let the WNBA affect what they do!

NBA is a multi-billion dollar product. They'll drop the WNBA before they let it affect their own scheduling.

WNBA is getting bigger by the year as it happens... they recently got a new CBA - better pay for their stars - so the natural progression would be to have the WNBA season line up with foreign club leagues rather than have their players work literally year round. They're not there yet but if they're ever going to grow that's the next step.

Still crickets from the WNBA on a return. Seems they're following the NBA's lead. Meanwhile Bundesliga & the Israeli league are back in business in a few weeks.

I was going to re deposit next week hoping for something in June from either nhl nba or mlb, but I don’t see that happening. If none of these three make a commitment to a re start date it’s never gonna happen.

    later

Saban is in a TV commercial telling ya'll to wear a mask. You just do what he says because he's a successful football coach. Based on the fact the zombies will wear their mask, no college football will happen.

that and when they had to face one of the other big 3

So basically the NBA is going to have a summer league format, except with regular players. I think that will be fun for TV. I used to bet on summer league games and the gyms these games were played in were tiny, especially in Orlando,

Yes. The 6 foot foot rule will apply to all sports. In hockey there is a new penalty called not social distancing. Any player that comes within 6 feet of another player will be issued a 2 min penalty. In basketball it will be a shooting foul. They are still trying to figure out how to apply it to football.

Just saw Birx on Chris Wallace's show.

She stated that 6 foot social distancing must remain in place; and that the virus spreads contagiously through mouth emanations (droplets).

She re-emphasized the importance of wearing these dam masks.

This was not the optimistic news that we were hoping for, despite many restrictions being cautiously lifted.

Hockey players can wear full-face helmets; but how can the NBA possibly resume under these conditions?

I know the target date is still a month away, but are things really gonna change in that time?

I'm starting to think that sports betting is becoming a wash for this season; and it should be interesting to see how things develop for the NFL.

They should at least open the gyms soon to counter the threat of depression and stagnation.

    God bless.

Soccer players play without masks during the games. But they are tested daily. Unless NBA starts testing players they can't start playing.

Seems like a done deal at this point. Latest rumours have them adopting the FIBA/ FIFA format of pool play into a playoff.

NBA set to announce their plans in a couple of days. Still nothing from the WNBA. It's like they're waiting for the bigger leagues to make their move so they can reach for the remaining scraps ...like a low level FA waiting for the big stars to sign their max deals.

Only point of the WNBA is to bridge that gap in the basketball calendar but if it's not going to do that it may as well fu( off.

I think that the NBA will attempt to open their season, but once their players start being infected with the virus, they will shut down for the rest of the season, making the owners very happy. MLB may never start. The NHL may last a bit longer. Just do not listen to these know-nothing f**ked up Liberal reporters on CBS Sports or ESPN.

The players don’t want to play, no matter what we want or what they say. Fans or no fans . Maybe one or two exhibition games, but no professional athlete values a championship or games right now over perceived health and future millions.
