    Play chess online for cash

    BY ADMIN 03.20.2001 :: 8:07AM EDT

    webquest international inc. has announced the launch of onlinechess.com, the first website that lets two people play chess against each other for cash. in addition to playing for cash, the site offers a way to play without having to wager for those people who are either not old enough to bet or who don't want to wager real stakes.
    as for wagering, you must be 18 or older and open an account with a minimum of $25 using a credit card. once you have your account open, you can wager between $2 and $25 per game, but your losses are capped at $200 a day and $1,000 a month.

    wagering on an online chess game is not currently considered gambling, though it is not allowed in arizona, arkansas, california, delaware, florida, georgia, illinois, indiana, louisiana, maryland, pennsylvania, rhode island, south carolina, south dakota, tennessee, vermont, and wyoming. these 17 states have laws and regulations that prohibit “wagering on skilled games.”
