    $976,000 Wager on LA Clippers To Win NBA Western Conference

    On Monday at DraftKings sportsbook, a customer placed a $976,000 bet on the Los Angeles Clippers to win the Western Conference at +230 odds.

    If the Clippers reach the NBA Finals, the bet would net $2,244,800 million. The Los Angeles Lakers remain the favorites to win the Western Conference at +150.

    i think for a bet to be taxed it has to pay more than 600 to 1 odds.

    Betting this much is dumb unless you have winnings to offset.

    This large of a sum, there will definitely be a paper trail that the IRS would follow.

    You lose though, you can’t deduct it against your income. Dumb to bet such amounts unless guy is a billionaire where it’s peanuts (can write off 2% of AGI total for gambling losses).
