On what I understand the total points of the leading team +24 points for the 4th quarter determines the winner.
for example the score after the 3rd quarter ends is 100-99. Then whoever reaches 124 in the 4th quarter first wins.

24 being a tribute to Kobe.

winner of each of the quarter will receive 100k to donate to the charity of choosing. But dont think 100k is enough to motivate these players to try hard. Also the total is going to be tricky because books will count all 4 quarters score. If both teams really want to win each quarter, and if the quarter is close, they will foul just like at the end of the game but them fouling will depend on how badly they want to win the quarter for that 100k.

All the points still count from the 1st 3 quarters. Say Team Giannis scores 120 points and Team LeBron scores 131 (cumulative quarters 1-3). Then target score is 155

At least we know that there is an absolute cap on the 4th quarter.

At 23-23, someone could make it 26, or perhaps 27 with a foul, perhaps. But that's as far as it can go.

I wonder how far into the game the books will have the live total available. Lets say team LeBron has a TOTAL lead of roughly 10 pts when there is 90 seconds to go in the 3rd (they could be winning or losing in the 3rd, but 10 pt lead from all of the game combined), it would be best to pound the over, because there is more scoring room for the 4th qtr. If the 1st 3 qtrs are close (1-3) pts, the under might be the way to go.

I would think the under seems good here. Maybe a little more motivation to try b/c of the charity angle and the limited 4th quarter. Points may not come as cheap at the end of quarters 1 2 and 3

The only way that you could feel somewhat comfortable with the over is if there are around 260 points or more scored after the 3rd quarter as I expect less than 50 to be scored in the 4th.

I actually bought out of my over 314.5 bet and made $6 because the total went up, so I rebet it on Team Lebron over 79.5 1st half points, which I think is the better over play.

If the game is tied like 130 to 130 going into the 4th, the most points that could be scored is 47.

this is true. the score will reset at halftime though, so it would have to be a lopsided 3rd quarter for this to happen, so there could still be like 60 in the 4th, although its unlikely
