I’ve said it 1000 times before, sometimes the public side is the sharp side.
Perfect example, Simms and the Giants thrashing Elway and the Broncos.
    The locals got crushed.

MGM verified a man wagered a 1/2 million, 550,000 to win 500,000 on the Chiefs -1 at the time.
I read the whole story on Yahoo sports.
The sports book manager said we didn’t want to move the line but we had no choice.

At the end of the game when it counted, he was the guy who won the game, so yeah.

Mahomes "awful" game is a good game for most QBs. He did enough to win the game.

I don't know. I lost over $300 on the over and expected the Chiefs to do basically what they did(and more from the 49ers) but I cannot take away from what I saw here tonight.

The 49ers scored 20 points against a Chief's defense who was supposed to be one of the worst in the game.

    So what happened?

If the game had ended after 3 1/2 quarters this statement could hold some truth. At the end of the game not so much. Not that I'm saying he played great, but he got the job done, against an extremely tough defense.

As for the MVP, I didn't think there was any obvious choice on KC, so Mahomes is going to get it. I can see y'all gushing over Williams' stats, but I really didn't see him as any sort of obvious MVP choice. I mean, he had 60 or so rushing yards before that TD at the end.

    Whatever.

At the end of the day Mahomes scored multiple times in the 4th quarter and the 49ers couldn't hold a 10 pt lead with 7 min to go.

Icing the game would have been him going down from 1 yard line, then kill clock and win the game. Him scoring the TD actually gave San Francisco chance to win because san fran got the ball with little over 1 min left....plenty of time there to score a td and go for on side kick bu luckly for kc, grappo is no brady or eli from the old days.

Mahomes had about 3 touchdowns 300 passing yards and about 50 rushing yards. his final rushing numbers looks low because he took strides back while taking the knee to eat some clock and lost yardage.

mahomes was a clear mvp choice from kc team. i am not even american and i don't watch nfl but i am not sure how anyone in the right mind who watched full game can choose someone else over mahomes. that williams guy had okay game but that last play basically doubled his rushing yards and the smart play there for him would have been to go down 1 yard from goal instead of scoring the td. by scoring, he gave extended the game and put the ball back into sf's hands with over 1 min left.

Everyone jumped on the 49er train once they beat the packers, whom they beat in even worse fashion in the regular season. Suckers.

He didn't have one of his better games, but certainly wasn't awful in any normal sense.

I thought his guy said it best. No rush when the defense got tired. Similar to NE's 25 point comeback vs. Atl
They controlled the game for 54 minutes. The pass rush generated consistent pressure, flushed Patrick Mahomes out of the pocket and destroyed the continuity of the Chiefs’ passing game, until the defense got tired. Then the pass rush disappeared

This has to be 65/35 split in favor of shanahan and Jimmy g choking it away vs mahomes being mahomes.

Mahomes was terrible for 48 minutes and then became his usual self

Watched the last 11 min a couple of times this morning. Jimmy G didn't play that bad. He was getting hammered. KC had 8-9 guys in the box at all times and were bringing the rush. The thing is SF had 2nd/5 after a nice 1st down run when it was still 20-10 and they started passing. They had 2nd/5 same thing when it was 20-17 and passed? Why not stack up the line with 2 TEs and run the ball? They could also use Jimmy G's legs on bootlegs with 2 TEs. By spreading out their formations it let KC blitz in there and pound him. Shanahan got outcoached, but I still say that 3rd/15 play turned the game. SFs rush was getting there on medium routes, but they let PM have time and Hill was wide open.

you're right... only Brady is allowed to completely no show and still win the game while getting all the credit.

The only thing that is awful is your picks.

Mahomes plays bad and wins. What would have been the score if he played well???? My guess 48-13 Lol

I have been a KC fan since the mid-80's and I still will say the 49er's lost more than KC won. Sure, KC's comeback was pretty sweet but there really was no excuse for the 49er's to let it happen.

I just went through this entire thread to find a post that was to me "GLARINGLY" obvious.
Shanahan blew it with his 4th Q play calling. 2 drives in a row abandoning the run and asking JG10 to do too much.
BRUTAL ineptitude. BTW, I had KC small, but was joined by a good friend at the bar who had a chunk on SF so I was basically rooting for him and his wallet all game.

I thought the SF defense was just totally gassed. KC defense started making stops that kept the SF defense on the field. The last TD by Williams didn't mean much but he doesn't get that run nor do the 2 TDS before that happen if SF wasn't dead tired. Receivers were wide open getting lots of separation and there was no rush.
