    Philip Rivers
Is that it? Does Tom Brady go to the Chargers?

Philip Rivers and his family “permanently” have moved out of San Diego, the QB confirmed to ESPN this morning.

When Andrew Luck suddenly announced his retirement before the start of the 2019 season, the franchise seemed to belong to Jacoby Brissett going forward. That all changed after the season as rumors seemed to suggest that the team was pursuing Philip Rivers.

Before that actually went down, Indianapolis Colts Frank Reich called Jacoby Brissett to inform him the team was signing Philip Rivers, and Brissett was not thrilled about the news.

“Obviously, he wasn’t happy,” Reich said of Brissett, per Zak Keefer of The Athletic. “But he’s a good teammate and will handle it.”

Brissett played in 15 games in 2019, but is surely going to return to the role of a backup QB after the team signed Rivers.

Reich called signing Rivers a “crazy, unique opportunity” for the team.

The 27-year-old had a total of 18 touchdowns to just six interceptions, but the offense was extremely limited with him behind center. He completed the third-fewest yards per attempt (6.6) among qualified signal-callers.

The Colts can save $8.9 million if it releases Brissett.
