I’m watching Daily Wager right now and that Anita lady just told me to buy the hook in the Titan game and make Tennessee 7.5

I wanted to scream at the TV set buying the hook is a long term losing proposition because of the number of wagers it has mattered versus the ridiculous juice you have to lay.

Buying the hook is just as ridiculous as crossing zero betting a teaser.

Idk say mostly the opposite if it’s -6.5 I’m making it -7 for even money if your higher volume the juice is bigger deal at larger wagers. I always feel if you think a hook will make or break your bet then you have no business making the damn bet and the odds makers got the best at you idk about you but when I make a wager I’m confident it will win by a good number or why the fuk am I laying money on it....I had the Warriors +3.5 the other night vs Denver the hook saved me but still I placed the bet expecting a warriors win. When the book already has a mathematical advantage and you make it worse by buying anything your setting up your own funeral.

Let’s say you use a local for arguments sake and he doesn’t offer reduced juice.
And let’s say his line is Tennessee +7 -110
If you want to make it Titans +7.5 he’s going to charge you an extra .25 for that 1/2 point.
Now instead of laying -110 juice on his +7 you’re now laying -135 on +7.5

At -110 you have to win slightly more than 52 percent of your wagers to break even.
At -135 you have to win 57.45 percent of your wagers to break even.

Buying the hook off of 7 to 7.5 is beneficial to a bettor far less than 57 1/2 percent of the time.
