I mean really...what Australian people have made of their country in basically 3 generations is amazing and a tribute to the human spirit.
You've got it mate... and I'm half Canadian half American and I love it here. The best sense of humour, the most generous people in ANY country I've ever lived in when someone's doing it hard and struggling, the best mix of proper food aka proper Chinese (not sweet and sour chicken balls ffs), proper Japanese (not the fake wasabi in the little tube), Thai laksas, proper Indian curries (never saw on in N America) that don't make your arse blow up and burn like an inferno (like in Europe).

Many things wrong here but wow it's a beautiful country to live in. As is everywhere else I'm sure xo

Yes and he's seriously such a good dude. Honestly way better than I deserve since I can be a rat bag but he's genuinely such a good guy. Like stop on the side of the road, fix your tire, make sure you have housing and food and employment kind of guy. I'm like we're going to get killed with this shit and he always says "nah she'll be right mate". I genuinely wish each of you could meet him... I'm pretty awesome myself but if you ever get anywhere near Aus let us know and we'll do our best to get to any of you. He's an absolute divine human.

Aussie open set to start next monday 1/20.

There is no indication it will be delayed.

Pushing it out a week or two will not change a thing because those brush fires will be out of control for weeks if not months

They should do it - players are caughing on the court or even retiring. I am actually surprised that the players association doesn't voice some concerns about it - just some not so loud comments made by the players here and there

It's the classic suspense moving theme dilemma.

You know, the one where the terrifying protagonist threatens the safety of everyone in the town during the same week of the the annual festival that's key to the survival of the town. The mayor won't call it off, but Jeff Goldblum is sounding the alarm.

Now I'm not saying Australia is some small town that folds without this big festival, it's really more about it being the big festival.

And, horja, I'm not calling you Jeff Goldblum, unless you want me too.

But before you commit there, please remember, nobody listens to Jeff Goldblum.

That was the probably worsest day for air quality in Melbourne I've seen, 2 players got really sick jakupovic and bouchard out of the 128 matches played.

There hasn't been any decent rain in ages so I don't think the air quality will come close to bad as fires are east and north of the Australian open, no outcry from players association yet because it was the qualifiers and big names weren't playing but joker has said he won't be playing or happy to play in those conditions, I reckon the rain we had last 24 hrs and the weekend will clear most of the smoke

I'm 8th generation off the convict ships and my grandson is 10th. We breed young but its been a few more than 3 generations now.

I think the weaker inbred upper classes used the convict system to get rid of enemies and problems. So they sent a sub set of their best genetic stock to an island to inter breed.

And wonder why they have hardly been able to beat at us anything since.

It's similar to LA prices for big hotels in major cities.

But you get a 45% bump on your US$ with the exchange rate right now, so it won't feel like it's particularly expensive for you.
