i tip the BJ dealer at the end of my play if I did well. if i do like shit then he/she gets nothing.

i never tip the cage. that is them giving me what i won.

i tip the casino waitresses $5 here and there, depending how thirsty i am, how often i want her to check on me and how sexy she looks

It needs to be factored into the overall experience. Thinking too much about tipping gets you nowhere, just make it automatic for some, and more if you get anything above and beyond.

That said, I personally clearly over tip at the casino without even thinking about it.

    It's just my way.

Same here. Love putting down bets for the dealers.

I can't believe how many times I've paid $1 for a little bottle of water. Keeps here available for other drinks as well.

Poker: usually a dollar or two on a decent size pot. Throw them a bit more if it's a nice sized double up.

Table games: at the end if I win. Maybe a couple dealer bets if I'm doing well.

Craps: after a good session, where I clear a few hundred, I might toss 20 towards the stick man and say "all the hard ways for the dealers for a nickel" . Then I walk away. I don't know if they win.

    Drinks: $1/drink $2 drink/free food delivery.

It wasn't your typical stingy old man type, it was this pompass rich kid bragging about it.

Then security kicked him out for being all wet/dirty.

Honestly I hated him so it was pretty hilarious.

You really should tip and it's just that simple. Dealers can be cooler than you think. I've had a few tell me multiple things that made me much more money than I was tipping - because I tip well.
You sure you didn't see this in a movie?

I dealt BlackJack for a few years when I was in my early 20's. The scenario you are talking about above almost certainly never happened.

This thread as a whole is pretty hilarious. I can't speak for every casino on the planet.... but much of what is being said in this thread is simply not true. I can assure you that dealers aren't risking their jobs to help the players win. Dealers are hinting to players what their hole card is??? REALLY???

When I dealt blackjack we had a machine check the hole cards for us... we never manually looked. Does any casino still even do this?? I get the feeling that there are several posts in this thread from people who have played little to no blackjack at all. As I said... I can assure you that dealers are not risking their jobs to help random strangers win money. If they are... by all means tip them well!!!

JG you nailed it----been gambling forever and posting for over 10 years but I made up a fake blackjack dealer story for no reason at all...... G+G gets it....I feel like he is the only one who truly understands in and out's of the tables and has been around long enough to see it all...his info is usually on point as well....

Not so literal marco, kind of why I laughed.

The concept of the house giving something back to the player for playing, nothing more.

Nobody's talking about the dealer reaching into their personal pocket.

imo no reason to tip a dealer for doing their job unless you have an exceptional experience and to me that is when i win of course. i also have tipped if the dealer was personable and made the game move along quickly. forgot to mention that part.

    They depend on tips.
Why are businesses allowed to employ people on wages of $2.13 hour, would be a better question to be asking imho.

I never did put it on my poker spreadsheets because I figured that would lead to reduced tips.

    I really should include it.

Coach let me teach you how to play GOOD poker man. Let's get you a good track record playing, then I know people that can stake you.

Just don't run from them or they'll hurt you.

they just want you to think they only make 2.13/hr

if they dont get tips to meet minimum wage, the place as to make that up

waitresses dont want that, because those are taxed and show as income...whereas they cheat the system with cash tips

i was a caddy in college

company outings added the tip in the fee

we had to tell those guys after 18, your tip was included by company

but they are put in a weird place, so tip extra because their round was free anyway

    tipping should be banned

one day i made about $600 because a company paid group didnt show (i got to keep their caddy fee plus tip), then i took another caddy's company group plus an extra tip

There has been times I tipped upwards $1k to $1.5k on a good run at the $25 BJ tables
depending on how many L.I. iced teas I devoured..........

There have also been times where I tipped said above amount and walked away from the table M T handed because of how many L.I. iced teas I devoured..........
