I had a large bet $5000 on the Over in the Hous/Balt game. I took .5 to get it to 51 . My question is do i have a case to maybe get my money back?

I know they probably will not change it. But there was a game a couple years back that a couple books gave players their money back because there was a horrible call at the end of that game that determined the outcome of the game. I think this qualifies on that same level.

If a game is determined there was cheating you would probably get your money back too right? It is pretty hard to prove it but honestly this one comes pretty close.

In the end i lost by 3 points on the Over . Anyone watching this game knows what happened. This was such a bad call that this made national news. It made a top story on AOL news. Just this one single play. So it was that bad.

I cannot remember when it happened . But Hopkins got interfered with in the End Zone by Humphrey . It was beyond extremely obvious and there was no call. So Houston challenged it. It was an easy 100% reversable call that is how blatant it was.

So they do the replay i figure cool i get the ball on the 1 Yard line. They actually come back and say call stands no PI .

My gripe is this. First, if it is that obvious and it is 100% PI and they do not call it and this again was so obvious it made national Headlines- would that not be considered cheating? I mean, the only reason i can think of is the refs purposely called it that way because they did not want their egos hurt that they did not originally call it. But if they do that to me that is cheating because the call should have been 100% reversed and it effected the outcome of the game for me.

If they get the ball at the 2 the odds were they would have scored TD and i would have won . At the least even a FG would have given me a push.

I know they will probably never give my money back. It is a large amount of money. But do you all think i have a case here ? That bad no call pretty much cost me the Win and it should have easily 100% been called.

If they gave you your money back, the books would have to subsequently take the "winnings" from those on the under and try to explain to them why they were doing it. Never going to happen.

The books are in it to make money, not be "fair".

Not a chance. This was also the highest over on the card and usually they never hit. If someone can look that up to back up my point I’d appreciate it but just mentally noting it I don’t remember the highest total of the day winning frequently

If i remember correctly on the other game and keep in mind i am not just bitching on a normal missed call this was national news which proves how unfair the call was- the other game they just gave the money back to the losers and let the winning bets stand. I guess my though process is the cheating aspect of this. If they knew it was PI and they still did not call it just to protect their egos it just feels like cheating then. They are there to make the right calls . They missed a call ok i can see that. But to have a challenge and still after watching that replay not change it just seems a little like cheating . And that one call really changed the outcome of my bet most likely. And yes i know i have like 0 chance it was $5000 but still i figure you would get your cash back if there was cheating right? I thought this was on the same lines of that in a way. Maybe not direct cheating but when you purposely do not change something and you know it 100% should have been changed it just feels like cheating to me.

I do not think so remember this was not just a "Bad Call". This made national news it was so obviously bad. The last time this type of thing happened was the game a couple years back on a missed obvious call on the last play of the game. It was as bad a call as this one was.

The part that makes this national news is that it was so obviously missed it was challenged. And they purposely did not reverse it because they did not to have their egos hurt and proved wrong. How else can you explain it . Sure they still had to score but they would have been right at the goal line pretty much odds were they would have and this would have won instead of losing by 3 .

It just makes me angry when i think of how the replay review went. How they were all looking at the screen and the conversation that had to have taken place.

it was a bad call, but even if the call was correctly made there is no guarantee they would score a TD or make a fg to cover the over. I think you should take a few days or weeks off and come back strong. You can hit your mark with your next 280 deposit. This one is gone forever, but you got close, so take the tough loss and walk away, but remember that you have the potential to get it next time.
