Tua’s injury is the same that ended Bo Jackson’s career

They’re calling it a dislocated hip with a posterior wall fracture. His thigh appeared to be shorter than the other because his hip dislocated outward. Could be career ending

Damn that sucks for that kid. One year he is top pick in the draft then at end of year maybe never play again. That cant be easy to deal wth at such a young age especially with millions on the line

Much better medical interventions in the last 30 years.

Hope the kid had a good draft insurance policy though

I thought the same thing. Hoping we’ve made advances, but Tua also isn’t Bo Jackson. I have to assume if Bo couldn’t bounce back, the medical advancements would have to be pretty immense to save Tua.

The pain of that injury is supposed to be insane. I’m sure the recovery is terrible too.

Tua would’ve been a walking corpse in the pros anyways he’s always banged up. Herbert and Burrow will be the next two big qb studs in the nfl

Not saying he can't come back but if it ended Bo's career, doesn't bode well for his future in the sport.. Or any sport..

Herbert sucks... that kid from Clemson is pretty damn good. Yea Tua will have a tough time getting drafted after injury. He always struck me as fragile. Not to many left handers......

I think Bo had circulatory issues to the area that wouldn't allow him to heal.

    I think.

I don't think that this is career ending, but if he can't take a few college guys landing on him then no way can he stay upright in the NFL.

I guess there’s always a chance he comes back and plays pro baseball. He’ll never be able to make those walk-the-centerfield-wall catches anymore though.

Didn’t they misdiagnose Bo early on too, or maybe he was so tough he didn’t get it looked at right away by specialists, which further led to the damage done to the hip area?

Not sure but there was damage to the blood vessels and they couldn't supply the hip. I think there was even necrosis there because of it.

Dislocating and even breaking the hip is not career ending, but if the body can't send a blood supply to heal, well...

It would be hard to come back from this injury. He would drop a lot on draft day. It's all Saban fault. He destroyed him.

Yes. I remember them diagramming how this was like the perfect storm of an injury to an athlete like Bo in the 30 for 30 You Don’t know Bo.

Agreed you could debate to death whether he should have been in there or not but the kid was injury prone as hell,

Yeah, he's so skilled but always hurt, and surgery style hurt. That's tough.

This doctor said time delay in treatment was a key factor in Bo’s ultimate outcome.

Much more timely treatment, as well as advanced medical knowledge, could at least give Tua a chance to play again.

Yea, I read somewhere that Bo had some sort of issue that limited blood to the area and complicated things.

Bo Jackson was the fastest man on the planet.

    Worthless without his speed.

    Little bit different here obviously.

No it's not Bo Jackson's injuru was very unique, the blood flow to his hip stopped which is why he had to have it replaced, it was not an ordinary dislocation.
