    Proposed change to the NFL

How about a player can foul out of the game like in basketball?

NFL is hard to watch these days with the constant ticky tack penalties jumping offsides, false starting, illegal contact, etc. all to try to get a little edge. Maybe each player gets disqualified after a certain number of fouls and the flow of the game will greatly improve? I would think QBs should be exempt since they touch the ball every play.

I said many years ago that the 2 things that are killing the games are the PI and holding calls because they are too subjective. The only solution is to get robots that can call the game fairly or maybe allow defenders to hold receivers and offensive lineman can hold the defense, which would even it out. Get rid of these 2 calls and the game is much easier to call.

Yeah I think that would help also but it would be hard to perfect an AI to do that effectively I would think

But if a player could foul out, yes it would be tougher to defend receivers but it would even out because O lineman wouldn't be holding all the time so more QB pressure

But people would complain that fouling out players is a safety risk to other players or some shit.

I don't think there is a perfect solution but something should be done. Allowing O linemen to hold defenders would be too much of a game changer and more advantageous than a defender holding a receiver I think because the defender is going to the QB while a receiver can go anywhere on the field and get free much easier

Not too many O lineman can even touch a guy like Aaron Donald. I really don't think it would change the game much. You'd have some rules like you can't trip a guy, or lock hands, especially with another teammate but basically open it up.

One of the reasons NFL is frustrating to watch is because the game itself is impossible to accurately officiate in real time. Too many variables on any given play and they absolutely NEED replay to overturn wrong calls etc.

Also, EVERYTHING should be reviewable. It really sucks when the refs make a mistake but due to the circumstance the play can't be reviewed and an incorrect call or decision gets to stand.

Get rid of the forward pass. Then we'd have a real game. Oh wait, we already have Rugby. Nevermind.....

just tell the refs to chill on the penalties so there will be some flow to the games

They already implemented this. If you get two personal fouls you get tossed. Remember Talib almost got tossed from the Super Bowl a couple plays in?

No like the NBA, 6 fouls ur done, not just personal fouls. NFL it would be more like 2 or 3. As it is now the benefit of trying to cheat a little outweighs a few yards when they happen to get caught so we've got what we have now, a damn flag fest.
