So you're saying there's a chance? I'm certainly rooting for them. I might as well put a cnote on them too.

Thanks for posting spreads with them, that was gonna be my 1st question!! Lol., cause Washington’s coach had a similarly stout after bye record but lot of that was with Boise and games he was double digit favs in so of course he was winning them all! Lol. This seems more legit than that!!

Georgia dominated Florida. Their O line is superior. Contained Florida’s pass rush which is better than Auburn’s. I think Fromm will have all day to sling the ball downfield it’ll come down to their wr’s making plays. I think this line is spot on. Will be a tight game but if I had to pick I’d take Georgia or nothing

You can make the case for gators defensive front being better but I think it be more fair to say they have superior edge rushers to auburn but tigers front is more stout which matches up better against Uga imo. Dawgs live and die with their run game, like many QBs Fromm is much more effective when they mauling teams in the run game. That said I do lean Uga but no interest in betting it.

throw trends out the window for this one. Georgia has won 11 of 14. The road team use to dominate this series.

    More stats
    In 2019...

    Auburn has defended

    633 plays

    Auburn has run

    658 plays

    UGA has defended

    542 plays

    UGA has run

    607 plays
It is only one apple to one apple, but vs. the Gators:

    Auburn permitted 132 rushing yards
    Auburn had four sacks

    UGA permitted 21 rushing yards
    UGA had two sacks

Georgia perspective this weekend: In the last 20 years, there have been 10 Top 5 teams favored by a FG or less on the road vs a team ranked outside the Top 10. The 10 have gone 2-8. The only two to win - 2016 Ohio State at Oklahoma and 2009 Cincinnati at Pitt.

Auburn has also scored in the first quarter of every game Malzahn has coached against Georgia. Trying to find the stats

Every Auburn win against Georgia under Gus Malzahn (as a coordinator and head coach) can be pinpointed to two things: the Tigers picking up 25 first downs and averaging 500 yards of offense. Anything less and the Tigers lose. That's a scary thought for Auburn fans, and with the Tigers' defense the best it has been since the mid-2000s, maybe Auburn can win by not hitting the aforementioned numbers, but so far it has been the only way for Malzahn to beat one of Auburn's rivals. The problem is there is no middle ground, it seems, for Malzahn against Georgia. His offense averages 505.7 yards in wins and only 258.9 yards in losses against the Bulldogs. Three of his 10 worst offensive outputs as a college coordinator or head coach have come against Georgia.

Gus Malzahn’s offenses have scored in the first quarter against Georgia in every game he’s been the head coach or coordinator. Every game. In those nine games Auburn has scored a touchdown in six of those nine games on the very first drive of the game for the Tigers. Have a look:
    2009 - Nine plays, 74 yards - TD (1st Drive of Game)
    2010 - Nine plays, 73 yards - TD (1st Drive of Game)
    2011 - Eight plays, 76 yards - TD (1st Drive of Game)
    2013 - 16 plays, 56 yards - FG (1st Drive of Game)
    2014 - 10 plays, 70 yards - TD (1st Drive of Game)
    2015 - 11 plays, 75 yards - TD (1st Drive of Game)
    2016 - 15 plays, 80 yards - TD (2nd Drive of Game)
    2017 - 8 plays, 41 yards - FG (1st Drive of Game)
    2018 - 8 plays, 75 yards - TD (2nd Drive of Game)

Dane great posts. So you’re thinking if there’s any play it’s a first Q type of scoring? Like I posted before, I don’t see how auburn can win a four quarter game vs Georgia. I actually have Georgia at around -5 or -6.

Georgia is the better team, but auburn is certainly capable of winning. Georgia is also a slow starter, but gets stronger as the game goes on. So I think an Aub 1q or 1h play wouldn’t be the worst.

It’s cliche, but this will be a low margin for error game. Team who doesn’t turn it over and waste possessions will win. Nobody has been able to run on Georgia’s defense. Much is made about Derrick brown, and rightfully so, but Georgia probably has the most under rated DT in the country in Jordan Davis. So can Nix win the game for Auburn? That’ll be the question.

Conspiracy theorists note the same refs who called the 2017 game in auburn against Georgia are calling this one. That one was littered with several questionable calls against Georgia. Sankey and the folks in SEC HQ in Birmingham need an Auburn win to help Alabama’s schedule. Btw, why the fukk is the SEC HQ in Birmingham ?

Malzahn is a clown. His offense is great vs horrible defenses. What do his teams do vs elite competition? Nothing

How do they get to the point where this is the best they can do at QB??? No good recruit is going to come to Auburn and sit behind Bo Nix as bad as he has played this year without getting pulled once.

Yeah I hear ya. Malzahn going to ride or die with Nix right until the bitter end. I know he’s supposed to be a big time recruit but the games that I’ve watched he has not impressed me at all

That's why they won't be able to get any better players at the QB position. No matter how poorly he has played Nix hasn't been pulled once. I know he has had a 12-32 and a 15-35 game this season in losses with multiple INT's and still no one else got in the game. Oregon should feel like shit for losing to Auburn in his very first game, he is no better now.
