Blazers 4-9-1 ATS since Silver gave Anthony the player of the week award.

The gift that keeps on giving. God bless him.

Definitely worse with him. Spent the first 6 weeks on the road so inevitably their record has improved with rest & home court. BAD BAD move

Melo is a wash.. I saw him play against the Lakers the other night. Couldn't defend or make a shot.

He was sent out of the league for a reason.. Past his prime and he's not even that old yet.

Watched him just now, betting on the Suns. Got back cut about 5 times by Bridges/ Oubre/ Johnson. Turns his head to watch the ball and doesn't bother looking back to the corner.

Blazers were only -4 at home against Suns. Not a shock at all they lost. Well maybe when they were up 19 at end of 1st quarter but even then, not really. Total garbage roster

Hmm Knicks are still a cupcake. Much as I dislike Fizdale, the roster he had was/ is garbage. Consider their recent wins... the icey Nets in Brooklyn and the depleted Wiz in Washington.

Blazers will give a good effort for Anthony -they seem to like him ...and they're on a nasty slide.

Blazers suck dikk and it has nothing to do w/ Melo. the team misses big Nurk so bad. they are atrociously soft w/o his presence on the court.

yea Blazers have no depth. Very sharp drop off after Lillard and mcCollom. Knicks aren't much worse

team needs to just trade CJ already. the writing is on the wall. give his minutes to Gary Trent JR and watch the kid blossom. Im tired of this monkey in the middle attitude w/ this franchise. go all in or rebuild. the league does not reward scary teams with RINGS.

Maybe. Blazers do seem to start strong. If they're up at half, I will probably double up on Knicks 2h

Knicks roster isn’t garbage, I think the word is spotty.
I like Randle, Gibson is a true pro but he’s a part timer.
Barrett’s turning out to be a good NBA guard...
But the bench is about as deep as a puddle.

Mike Miller considering this is his first shot at NBA head coaching is doing Ok with what he’s got to work with.
    He understands defense.

It’s no secret the owner Dolan is a hockey guy who loves his Rangers doesn’t give a flying fig about his Knicks but as long as those corporate seats keeps selling out he ain’t selling his cash cow.

Thought coming into the season the Hornets would be the worst but the kid Graham has talent. Even the Cavs are better than the Knicks.

Blazers giving the ball to Anthony to chuck up bad shot after bad shot. Knicks putting on a clinic on how to play like a team

You have to appreciate the irony at least

Blazers' guards can't make a shot. Jetlag a factor. Actually had the Knicks a few weeks back +9 in Portland after the coaching change. They got routed. Jetlag then too maybe.

Well that's the game I felt like the Blazers would go all out for Anthony. 2nd time around, even being at MSG I thought that effect would be lessened

There's no doubt Knicks are playing much better under Miller and it's not just for few games, it's been almost a month now. I'd say he's done himself favours to get a head coaching job somewhere if not in NY

Yeah, much less drama. Fiz enjoyed the limelight too much. Talking to the press all day & night. I think the absence of Smith has helped too. Defensive identity with Payton/ Ntilikina.

Lol people got buried in this thread

    Just like I said

A guy averaging 16-17 a game and 6 boards can't play in the NBA? Even as a 6-7th man?

    Patrick McCaw?

    Quinn Cook?

    But no Melo?

    Lmfao.

    "He can't play!"

Anthony is an inefficient volume scorer. There's just no place for those type of players in the league anymore unless you're desperate like Portland

So there's a place for Patrick McCaw, but no place for anthony. Say something that makes sense. There's a space for Anthony Tolliver, an all around horrid player, from defense to rebounding to scoring, but there's no place for Anthony? Again, speak logic.

McCaw, Quinn Cook, Anthony TOlliver those are all terrible comparisons. Quinn Cook doesn't even play any minutes now and is trade bait for the Lakers at this point. McCaw didn't hardly play any minutes until all the injuries. Tolliver- only started because Zach Collins got hurt.

Remember Anthony wanted a starting job. Nobody wanted him because you can't have an inefficient guy like that starting on your team if you have playoff aspirations. You can't have someone like that start on a bad team either because that blocks your young guys from getting experience.

Anthony might have a place coming off the bench but look at his last 2 stints in that role at OKC and HOU. Failed miserably and ruined team chemistry. Anthony is a selfish player whether you see it or not. He's not interested in team play, he just wants to make tough shots for his career highlight reel. Modern game is all about efficiency. No place for guys like him to be a starter on a serious team

    Modern game is about efficiency?

Carmelo is one of the best 3 point shooting 3's in the NBA efficiency wise

    Speaking of efficiency

Jayson Tatum shoots 41.6% from the field...

    Buddy Hield - 41.6

    Devante Graham 37.6% fg

FRED VANVLEET shoots 37% from the field bro.

All those guys start. And play huge minutes.

Anthony made it perfectly clear he would come off the bench. So McCaw Quinn Cook etc are not terrible comparisons. The debate going back in this thread was, "Can Carmelo Anthony play in the NBA or is he washed up?"

The answer is clear now. If Anthony can't play, than neither can 80% of the league. Cause he's definitely at least a top 50 player/400 of them.
