    sportsbook booting
Hey everyone. Really enjoying this forum. Question? I hear alot of people talking about sportsbooks cutting limits on consistent winners. If you are winning consistently, betting alot of games but only betting around $200 per game, are you likely to get booted from some of these top rated recreational books? Thanks for any feedback. Good luck to all.

Welcome to SBR bud. If you are only playing $200 a game chances are you will not get booted from of SBR's top level books.

It also depends on how you're betting, if you're winning more by luck than judgment then chances are you won't get booted since you're a book's dream customer. What you win one week, you'll lose in following weeks. However if you're betting off-lines or playing steam then lesser books will kick you out even if you have a losing record.

What's "steam"? I've heard this term before. What's it mean?

When a large amount of money starts to come in on one side of a game and the line moves rapidly.
When a betting line starts to move quite rapidly; most "steam games" do not necessarily reflect the "right side", but are games that the mass of bettors somehow decide to key on.

There are two reasons for gettign booted

              1) you won a lot
              2) you only bet on good numbers. If you play steam, you'll get booted faster. But if they notice that you only bet lines that thye are slow to update, lines that are off by 1/2 point or more, or 10 cents on the ml, they will boot you.

Books don't want players who they feel are cherry picking thier lines.
