It is pretty common knowledge that baseball has the lowest home field advantage of any major sport.

Actually in playoffs hockey is the least meaningful home field, baseball is second behind nhl. Love taking advantage of these things in playoffs as ppl don’t understand this and there often value on the road teams!!!

It used to be a thing but w teams acquiring 4 or more new everyday players year after year, with pitchers not going thru the order more than 2xs, it's not the same

The runs MN had in 87, 88, 91,92, 02-09 they were damn near unbeatable at home. But analytics has really leveled that all out.

You think Jack Morris going 10 innings today? No way. But in '91 he was unhittable at home and his hometown. Those factors don't play into it anymore.

My hockey knowledge is somewhat light. From what I've seen NFL -> NBA -> MLB, greatest to smallest. I had wash in the first two games here.

I believe that correct with hockey being slightly less than mlb. (I’m talking strictly playoffs, although i think it somewhat overrated in general).,

I’m not sure which greater between NBA-NFL? both much stronger than the bottom 2 that for sure!!

There are a few mlb that do hold a better edge at home due to stadium, altitude, etc. especially if those teams are smart enough to build team to their parks strengths. Obviously this a very generalized overall discussion.

Good point. If they construct their team to take advantage of the stadium's character. It can, in fact be a big advantage. Assuming of course the visiting team is not equally or more suited to your stadium by chance. Many variables and part of what makes MLB so fun to bet.

I think a less obvious one ppl wouldn’t think about was the royals super fast outfielders in that big park when they were winning!!

if this were true how do you explain why some teams have such good home records and poor road records?

or are you saying it only doesnt matter in the playoffs?
