NFL commissioner Roger Goodell won't place New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown on the commissioner's exempt list, according to ESPN.
The reports come as Brown faces accusations of sexual assault stemming from a civil lawsuit that was filed in a Florida court this week.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said the NFL will not place Brown on the commissioner's exempt list, since there is no criminal investigation. He will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against Miami.
The commissioner's exempt list is a special designation which is used at the discretion of Goodell to allow the league to conduct investigations into possible violations of the league's personal conduct policy.
If placed on the list, Brown would not have been allowed to practice or attend games, but would have been allowed to be present at the facility for meetings, to work out and to receive treatment.
Brown took part in practices with the Patriots on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, days after his former trainer filed a civil lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida accusing him of sexually assaulting her on three occasions.
Brown, who has worn the No. 84 throughout his career, was wearing No. 17 at Thursday's practice. He wore No. 1 on Wednesday.
