Why is Trump asking for Rate cuts?

Should they really cut rates. Seems scary

Trump knows a weak dollar is good for the markets, and he wants the market to keep moving higher, no reason to cut rates with unemployment at record lows.

The Fed is turning political. Last year, when Trump called for a move, they said they wouldn't because they don't listen to the White House.

    Nice data driven decision there.

Then they tried to influence last year's elections.

They have been playing a short term game so I wouldn't be too scared either way until the get back on the longer term track. Last year looked bad and they are going back to data, hopefully, or maybe they are planning ahead for the next election.

Like I said, last year looked bad and shows what the Fed is capable of, without regard to being obvious.

Ok he's going for the weak dollar. Trying to get reelected when the Dow is at 30k next November
