Nasher likes the Reds tonight +130 over the Cubs

    Quick quiz hot shots.
Who’s got the second best pitching staff in the National League?
The answer would be the Cincinnati Reds.

Reds visit the Cubs tonight, Reds will start Castillo, Cubs start Hendricks.
Now even though Chicago has come out of the break storming winning three straight there are a few reasons why I think the Reds are a good spot play here.
Hendricks started the season fine however his past three starts have been awful losing all three while failing to get out of the fifth inning all three times. Walking five while giving up 14 hits in 11 1/3 innings yielding 7 earned runs.
Hendricks is 0-3 lifetime vs. the Reds with an ERA over 7.

The Reds have demonstrated they can hit Hendricks in the past.
Joey Votto is 10 for 24 with three home runs vs. Hendricks.
Puig is 4 for 12 with a homer as well.

Conversely Cubs bat .222 against Castillo in a 126 at bat sample size.
Scwarber and Contreras are the batters Castillo has to fade tonight, especially Schwarber who has two homers vs. Castillo, everyone else Castillo has had his way with.

Lastly Castillo is having a monster season for the Reds, he’s third in the major league in ERA at 2.28 he’s 8 and 3 overall, strikes out more than 9 per inning (124 in 106IP), and has a stellar WH/IP of 1.08 and has given up a stingy nine homeruns.

I personally think the Reds are in a good spot tonight at +130 and Castillo.

50 gets you 65, 10 gets you 13 if you are a small player.

I was shocked how much plus money cincy was getting w Castillo on the bump.

I actually made a small future wager on reds. If it wasn’t for the abysmal start they could very well be leading the central.

Castillo’s change up is one the filthiest pitches in the game right now imo.

I think the Cubs are getting all the love due to their 3-0 post All Star game start.

Wanna say this Cubs team has mostly been a team that turns it on after the break. If I’m remembering correctly most this recent good run they played pretty average in 1st half then much better after asb. Dunno that sweeping the pirates is all that impressive tho? I’d say lot of it has to do w how good they been at wrigley. It on the road where they have struggled mightily.

Cincy lost 2 of 3 at coors over weekend but they played pretty well. Both losses were by 1 run and the offense def performing!

Not only reds but I’m really interested in the under (possibly 1st 5 opposed to game), havnt checked wind and obviously don’t know ump yet but think that 10 they hanging little high based off reds at coors and cubs offense looking strong over the weekend. Both these pitchers have handled these offenses in a recent series in reds band box. Think the offenses both be cooled down tonight especially in the early innings.

Another plus for reds, wind is blowing out hard and Castillo has a 2 to 1 ground ball/fly ball ratio this year while Hendricks only at 1.17 gb/fb.,

Man, can’t see laying that juice here. Not that they can’t or won’t win, just don’t think as likely as the price suggest.

No angle per se just a pro Castillo/anti Hendricks spot play.

Why does Castillo pitch to Schwarber? As mentioned he’s the only Castillo killer and what’s he do? Solo homer to tie it up.

    1-1 bottom fourth
