Federer with the ultimate choke job

Gotta admit if u were on Djokovic you must be living clean...I think like 29 service games hed been broken once in the match...up 40-15...serving fantastic...blows it...one of the most shocking sports finishes I've ever seen...not sure what the live odds were at that point but 100-1 or more woulda been fair imo

Gross loss even without blowing 2 championship points.

Dominated 2 sets and loses 3 the breaks.

The break point Federer won which got him into a position to serve for the match was also a poor judgement decision from Djokovic to leave himself wide open for a Federer winner to expose, but may be Federer might have won the point regardless. I really thought the second match point I think it was that hit the side line was going to float out but he did enough to keep it in.

That's tennis sometimes. A cruel game.

This one hurts. If he just took a breather, and relaxed a bit then he wouldn’t have forced it so much. Hate that the match hinged on tiebreaks.

He freaks out sometimes, and tries to go for the easy point. Hate when he does this, as it’s not a good move against elite players.

it wasnt a bad decision imo its just that the forehand he hit wasnt hit farther away from nole as he wanted and nole reacted very quickly as soon as it was hit, if nole is a tad late, the forehand a little better, or nole's passing shot isnt as great as it was then fed puts that ball away at the net and he wins

Federer chokes more than people think... i still remember Fed up a set and 5-3 in the second set vs Donskoy and he went on to lose the match.. Dubaii ATP 500 Tourney.. Donskoy came back down 1-5 in the Tiebreaker as well.

In the 3 tie breakers Federer had 11 unforced errors to 0 for Djokovic.

2 sets to love and MP in the 3rd against Anderson last year.

Ironically, not only the US Open matches but a more recent one, 2018 Indian Wells final: 5-4, 40-15 on serve and Del Potro wins the match.

Plenty of chokes in his career.

This Wimbledon final will be iconic for decades, Federer should sit on 21 grand slams, Djokovic 15, but now it's 20-16 with Nole with a clear shot at surpassing Federer... just one point may have changed history.

The Wimbledon ones will always be iconic because you are literally one point away from holding a trophy and Novak was able to stop that somehow. I don't remember the last time that happened in a slam final.
I know Federer managed to stave off Championship Points against Nadal in their 2008 Final before losing but I think they said it had been a while where someone saved Championship Points in a slam.

Yeah I had that match in mind because it was a 2-0 blown lead like you said but couldn't remember if Gaudio saved Championship Points.

he was up 2 sets to 1 against del potro and lost that us open final also that was one of my favorites, del po was hitting monster forehands that had the crowd gasping
