it's called adrenaline. goffin was fired up and went balls to the wall knowing he had to get an early jump. Joker took him lightly because he is 5-1 career against him and knows that goffin's game mimics Joker's except Joker is 10 times better at everything.

every game like that. those top dudes are not playing 100% from the start . Tournament is not sprint for them it is marathon . And at the other hand all the ones they want to upset are huge dogs. They are putting everything they got early to even get slim chance

Maybe so but of the big 3 youd have to agree joker looks the most vulnerable.

Really thought Goffin had things well in hand but he literally stopped hitting the ball w any depth.

I’ll still happily take joker over the other 2 all day every day on any surface other than clay.

So without looking it up, what other players have won majors in this era besides the Big 3? Only ones I can think of are Murray, Wawrinka and Del Potro. I think DelPo only has one and those other two a couple each.

hahah I actually meant to say Marin Cilic but somehow got the two confused for a minute.

You can still argue Safin's occured during the era. Federer had won 3 majors the year before

Just did some researach. These guys have won 52 of the last 61 majors (if I did my math right). Surprised Wawrinka has just as many majors as Murray (3). Didn't realize that. But that's an absolutely incredible run over the last 15 years. And that number will probably only get more impressive over the next couple years. I don't see anyone breaking that streak up.

Damn, I knew it was a lot but that insane!!! Could very well be the most impressive era of tennis ever!!!! We also got the Williams sisters domination during that time on woman’s side!!

You’re surprised Wawrinka has as many as Murry and im shocked Murry has 3!! Lol. Never liked that bird looking Mfer!! Don’t like all the shots we used to get of his ugly ass mom either!! Lol

True, but his wife is hot asf. I'll give him props for that. But yeah, three majors for a guy who used to be mentioned in the same sentence as the Big 3. He had talent but could never beat the big boys in the big matches.

I don’t think he was married to her yet back when I still followed tennis to a degree, as in I watched and bet on the majors, nothing more. No way he was or surely they woulda showed her more instead of the ugly Mom!! Lol

As much as I dislike him I will say he just had the misfortune of coming up in the big 3 era. He prob woulda won a bunch more had it not been for those guys.

Yup. In the last 61 majors, Fed has won 20, Nadal 18, Djokovic 14, Wawrinka 3, Murray 3, Cilic 1, Del Potro 1, Safin 1.

Didn't realize this, but doing some research, Bautista-Agut has a pretty good recent history vs. Djokovic. While he's 3-7 against him, he's won the last two, both this year, and has taken all 3 major matchups with him to a 4th set. So at +2.5, there may be some value there.
