I loved the way Fox incorporated Rock and Roll with MLB.
In my opinion the two best forms of entertainment are baseball and Rock and or Roll.
As much as I love to shit on Fox and especially Joe Buck, Fox produced a near perfect event, and do I dare say it? I’m going to need a shower after saying this but Joe Buck was pretty close to flawless.
Verlander could have gone a second inning.
The MLB commercials were great.
Cleveland is a bona fide great baseball city.
Speaking of Cleveland Bieber has a filthy arsenal.
The Stand Up for Cancer spot delivered its message solidly.
The in game mic’ed up players were enjoyable.
That Muncy to Alonso 4-3 putout was as good as it gets.
Blackmon looks like he can play guitar for ZZ Top.
That was one juicy meatball Will Smith served up to Gallo.
No doubt about it, Alonso is legit.
Chapma was filthy getting the save.
I’ll say it again, good job Fox, you absolutely got it right tonight.
Finally, I’ve been preaching for years good pitching not always but usually beats good hitting and tonight’s game was proof positive of this. I prefer crisp 2 hour and change pitchers duels over 4 hour 12-8 home run fests eight days a week.
Chicks may dig the long ball, and as much as I loved Kirk Gibson’s, and Boone’s and Fisk’s, and Joe Carter, and Chris Chambliss’ home runs give me a Maddux v. Pedro matchup anytime. But that’s just me.
I got what I was hoping for a clean, pretty crisp, 4-3 game that was played in under three hours. *Nasher checks his tickets AL - 118, under 8.5 +103, got it too. Yep, Nasher got just what he wanted, doesn’t always happen.
