Leafs trade Kadri, Rosen to Avalanche for Barrie, Kerfoot

TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Monday that the club has acquired defenceman Tyson Barrie, forward Alex Kerfoot and a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NHL draft from the Colorado Avalanche via trade.

Toronto is sending Colorado forward Nazem Kadri, defenceman Calle Rosen and its third-round selection in the 2020 NHL draft.

Colorado will retain 50 per cent of Barrie's average annual value (US$5.5 million) as part of the transaction.

doesn't it sound like Colorado overpaid a bit for this guy?

They did need a little more offense....more horses pulling the load

Yeah its a common strategy teams use to dump salary to create cap space.
I don't know much about the players Toronto gets in this deal but I liked Kahdri and am not happy he was traded.

Kadri had to go , hurt his team twice in consecutive years getting suspended in the playoffs .... making periodical bonehead moves

Yeah he showed some passion and cost him and the Leafs but he was the only guy that showed some grit vs Boston in the first round.

The Bruins were pushing the Leafs around and laughing about it because no Leaf player could/would do anything about it.
