Yes. Morino told me Jordan won a title at 36. I don't know is that true? Did he have a two time championship team going in?

    Don’t think he was 36. I’d say 33 34 tops.

Honestly.... James was tiring out during this past season.

I think he's washed up in regards to Championships.

Yes, he's in great physical condition... so was Kobe Bryant in his final 2 seasons...

Age just catches up with you.

    Exactly.

Dude needs 2 or 3 superstars to win.....

Put him on Toronto this year in place of KL and they don't make it out of 1st round.

I think Lakers still get another stud or two.....

    Maybe Kyrie from Boston?

Lot of public ass kissing going on between those two for nothing to happen.

Looks like New Orleans had LaBronna's dildo shoved square up their starfish.
AD wanted to be traded to one team and one team only.
LaBronna has AD by the short hairs and the Pelican's would have taken a much
    smaller ransom.

No other team but the Lakers was a consideration for Davis.
Just my view on the trade options.

Lakers didn’t give up shit tho: 1 good draft pick which will probably never turn into half of AD. Ball a scrub, Ingram a scrub, the other 2 1st rounders will be late 1st round.

I don't think that makes much of a difference.... when it comes to his age.

Guy could easily get an injury any time during the new season. I don't think Lakers have a chance in hell.

I mean... Kobe fell off the map during the last 2 years.... brick after brick etc. What numbers can we expect from James? It will be interesting to watch.

One good interesting thing about SBR.... NBA threads get stronger and stronger. And if it's growing here.... it means the NBA is growing.

Even though we all complain that it's unwatchable trash.... it's like a soap opera in the off-season. lol everyone tuning in

More posts in this thread than the nhl Stanley cup threads combined.

Almost felt like a ploy a year ago. He needed a year off so they put a crappy team around him. Let’s see how he is though, will be 35 in December with a ton of extra playoff miles. This is about when Kobe started tailing off.

The deal made sense for la because Davis will stay there. Great job by griffin of pelicans because he knew Davis was gone and only going one place (long term)

Nah LB, not bitter. Truthfully, I like what Ainge and the C`s braintrust has done.
Kyrie has the talent, but I will not miss his emotional ramblings and team disruptions.
Giving up the house to rent AD for a year would have been remarkably stupid.
LA keeping Kuz was a big win. Now if they get Kyrie/Buckets or Kemba then they turn into GS for the next few years.

Celts will have some $$$ to spend, but will have some tough decisions with the youngin`s coming off rookie deals.
Next year at least they will be fun to watch again.

We can all blow the Rapts GM for his ballsy move, but if Leonard bolts to Clips, the East is wide open again.

I’m not so sure lake show spending the money on another “star” type point gaurd is there best way to go. Think they be much better off stock piling some depth and shooters to surround the 2 stars they now have.

I’m pretty sure craptors and their fans will always be thrilled w renting Leonard even after he bolts.

The Pelicans did okay considering the clock was ticking before he left for nothing. Having said that though,I do think they messed up not taking the first deal back during the regular season.

Which years were those other two first round picks for ?

Couple ways to look at that, had they did the deal back then it possible lakers make playoffs and they not receiving the 4th pick in this years draft.

True enough, really I cant think of a team that was prepared to offer them anything better then what the Lakers did. Celtics werent giving up the players they wanted.

C`mon Bank. Of course better for LA to find shooters/depth rather than another max deal, but everyone in the league is looking for cheap labor. Not sure the Lakers management are going to out think or out work many other teams.

You are right about Toronto. Fans happy they got the chip, but if things didn`t go so well, trade would have been a catastrophe.
I for one hope he stays.

Well yea if they hadn’t won it might have looked bad but honestly woulda been foolish to think that. Let’s be real they were never winning anything way they were constructed without a player of Leonard’s caliber so even if it hadn’t worked out and they got killed for it I still think it been the right gamble. Kinda like guys who have a clue when it comes to gambling know the result doesn’t necessarily make a play good or bad. Who knows what he will do? He a odd bird. I think if he likes winning he stays and becomes the new bron of the east, if he doesn’t care he goes to clippers and is lakers whipping boy, lol.,

Far as lakers go no I certainly don’t believe they outsmarting anyone but w the cash they have available they could simply overpay for cheap labor who can shoot!! Plus despite the narrative that guys don’t wanna play w bron (maybe true about stars) Id think cheaper vets who wanna win and shooters would love it. Say what you will bout him but he gets shooters good looks and rather they take the big shots than himself doing it! Lol.

I think Lakeshow pointed out early in the thread that AD is injury prone.

It can be a concern but what the hell, you gotta just go for it.
