    Mountaineer Sportsbook for March Madness

I just booked my March Madness trip for a Wednesday through Sunday stay this week. I know that the Wheeling Island Sportsbook is still down from the time I was there two weeks ago. I figure if this place is terrible I am close to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Anyone been to Mountaineer? Thoughts on their sportsbook? Thanks.

They outsource their book to William hill, so you likely won’t have a problem getting big bets in. If you’re sharp or win consistently though, they follow the UK style of banning winners. I would ask forum users their experiences at Oceans and Tropicana in Atlantic City as both are run by William hill as well.

I am unsure of who runs the book in Rivers or of any experiences there.

Thanks Eagles. This is strictly for fun this week. I never do well during this tournament. Have you heard anything more about Betlucky and when they will be back up?

Then you will definitely be at the right book in WV. William hill will have by far the most options in terms of props, halftime bets, etc.

I have not heard anything on betlucky. Comparison though for experience, William hill much better, far more options.

You can google Las Vegas odds and find William hill lines as well. I would imagine they will be the same in all WH locations. So when you’re in hotel room you can look up lines beforehand.

    No problem, good luck!

Washington DC recently approved sports betting and I hear it will likely come out by fall. Could make a tourist trip out of it then.

The sportsbook is decent....it's William Hill, but the lines will be individualized to each book and Casino. You should have a decent time, check out the card room. Pretty solid amount of Poker tables going on the weekends.

Really? For big games William Hill posts its odds on its twitter account and says available in WV, NJ and NV so I figured for main sports it would all be similar.

I will have to compare lines next time I go but last time I went to Ocean's in NJ, by William Hill, the 5 bets I made all were the same lines as the Vegas lines online.

Side note to WVGambler: Is there any PLO or 2/5 NLHE running there? What are the buyin limits?

Mountaineer book reminds me of a cafeteria. Wooden tables with uncomfortable chairs. You can still smoke inside too which sucks for 99% of people

Yea the odds will still vary based on what that casino needs in action. Even Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras, who both use Betlucky, will have a different line on some games.

The do have PLO sometimes depending on demand. I’ve also played 2/5 there but it’s been a while. Most times I just go to Wheeling because it’s 3 minutes away and always has a 2/4 table open.

Lines are always -110 at these books. Lots of misinformation here.

Compare live betting and money lines to offshore no comparison

I can get -105 on almost every bet offshore

Do the math.........5 cents every bet is an UNREAL ADVANTAGE

I appreciate the juice aspect of the conversation and with a high volume of bets I can see your point. To me as a old square recreational player, I like the fact that I can get immediate satisfaction from a winning wager. I have bitcoin access which I have used successfully but the wondering if I am going to get tax forms, if the sites I use for bitcoin transactions are going to go belly up, price fluctuations of the bitcoin itself all give me pause to just say to hell with the offshore. I am gravitating over to legalized state wagering more and when my State comes online later this year it will be entirely State gambling for me. Hell, I'm driving five and half hours one way this week just to use a legalized state sportsbook for my March Madness enjoyment this week.
