    Question for NCAA Men’s tournament.......

Would you rather make the big show and lose in first round OR get invited to NIT and make it to final game????

I’d take the NIT with a chance to win.
    Clear cut

As a true competitor and athlete I’d go NCAA, one and done

As a selfish egotistical bastard, I’d say let’s pound and get to championship game to make myself feel better

The big dance is always better than the Not Invited Tournament.

    low attendance early games

its by far a big show on some neutral court that fans do not even care

NCAA tourney with the first round loss is better. At least you had a chance to dance.

as a player, I think they all would prefer to go to the big dance. Especially after a 16 seed finally upset a #1, and seeing a team like Loyola go to the final 4

a player would believe that Magic can happen in the big dance, and they are partly correct.

Coaches prob feel similar but also a bit more pragmatic, like mentioned above. If you have a very young team and are going to be having everyone back, it is SUPER beneficial to go on a deep run in a lesseer tourney.

first of all, its all extra official practice time, that you otherwise wouldn't have. 2nd its great in game experience for both traveling and playing actual b-ball with your teamates against solid opponents.

back around 2012 a shitty Pitt team got into the CBI and got to the championship, which is a best of 3 format. they didn't play seniors as much and worked with the younger guys and helped them be a contender in the big east the following year and get back to the big dance.

so its like 6-7 extra games if you do well, which is like an extra 20% long season.

    Simple answer and proof:

Coaches get PAID and get better job offers by getting to the NCAA Tournament.

    Absolutely.

Other than that, Dom above this post is right IMO.
