Its not a matter of if they can shut you down its a matter of when they are going to shut you down. Just look to what happened to Calvin Ayre and Bodog. They could alter a law or enact a law to crack down on money being funneled to offshore or make it so that an offshore gambling site can't cater to US players regardless of where they are located. Maybe theyll make it harder to access the sites themselves with ISP idk. I do know the Feds and land casinos are not going to continue to allow all that untapped money to continue to not to go to them.

I think it's going to pass quicker than what most people anticipate.

But here's my take on it... if you've wagered offshore your entire life.... and you can find a book offshore that pays.... I think you'd be a fool to wager legally in the USA. Why? I think it leads to THEM (government) knowing more of your income.... and lifestyle.... and also... are you hiding anything extra. More than likely you'll have to set up account with a valid driver's license.... and this will link you to your losses and gambling habits. Your SSN will link you to your winnings...

I've been to countries in Eastern Europe where they ban offshore sportsbooks. They have a government-maintained list that internet providers must block. You can go place your bets at a street shop, or at any of the many sportsbooks that are registered with the government. If you try to go to 5dimes, you get redirected to a page that says the site isn't registered with that government, blah blah.

It's still easy to get around with VPN, but if the government truly wanted to shut down offshore, they could. A national blocklist that providers had to use would, for the most part, kill offshore for Americans.
