Packers could still make the playoffs??

The Green Bay Packers may want to forget this season, but there is still a chance of making the playoffs after their win over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday. Despite the team's 5-7-1 record, they could somehow sneak into the postseason. But not without some help.

    • Win their remaining games (at Chicago, at the New York Jets and against Detroit).
    • The Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles must lose one more game this season.
    • And the loser of the Minnesota Vikings-Seattle Seahawks Monday night game must lose two of their next three games as well.

Yes the Packers need a lot of help, but in the words of Jim Carey's Lloyd Christmas, "there's a chance."

How do you define "very"? If 5% is very, then yeah.

    Not really
Minny, Carolina and Philly are all in free fall
If Minny loses twice and GB wins out they get in because Philly and Carolina have no realistic chance at winning out

True. 2nd wildcard in NFC is now very soft. Carolina demise opened it up.

If Vikings lose at home this week vs Miami, then it really opens up. There's one big problem for Packers, tho. They Tied/Lost vs Vikings, so all h2h Tie-breakers go to Vikings.

The other big contingency is what Bears have to play for on 12/30. I do think the 3/4 seed matters this year, so that may be what they're playing for. If that's the case, Vikings still have work to do.

Not anymore. Only the Bears and Vikings can, and really only the Bears can.

Only strong divisions are AFC west, NFC west decent.

NFC West has the two worst teams in the NFC.

By record, AFC West is the only division well above .500.

Outside of a handful of the top teams, the rest is a lot of parity.
