Perhaps if the Georgia Tech fan base actually traveled to their away games they would have gotten a better bowl invite. As far as guys not wanting to play in meaningless bowl games, there is an easay way to put a stop to that. Make them pay back all of the scholarship money they received if they do this. Again, just look at the type of alleged "Student Athlete" we are looking at.

Arizona State WR N'Keal Harry signed with an agent and will skip the Sun Devils Bowl game against Fresno State.

Normally, the higher ranked team will be designated the "home" team, but not always. Each bowl has it's own way of choosing which team will be the "home" team.

    Little reason to play?

    How bout pride?

    Loyalty?

Honoring a commitment to play football for free college?

Respect for the fans that traveled to your bowl destination?

Trying to garner one last win in your school's colors before you head off to pursue your dreams?

Naw, of course not... Let's just play pattycake in streetclothes so we don't tweak an ankle before the NFL combine.

Does it matter? Unless bowl is played in literally the home stadium of one of the participating teams, it means nothing.

Quicklly eyeballing this year's bowls, it looks like only true home teams are South Florida and Hawaii.

Ironically, I think more people would rather visit the Henry Ford Museum than watch a Detroit Lions game this year. Hopefully, the Henry Ford Museum is true to his life and includes some of his writings and publications warning America about international Jewry and the Jewish problem. At least the players would get an education (the ones who can read anyway).

Cmon eddy this just naive and flat out wrong to kill these kids. They played for free and gave their schools their all so they could make millions and millions of dollars off their backs. They don’t owe the fans a god damn thing, why cause they bought tickets and their jerseys which all go to the school not them!! They already forced to make these schools millions for years even if they good enough to play in NFL!! How many fans/alum will be there for them if one these kids blows out a knee and falls several rounds in the draft costing them millions???

You realize you agreeing with Fat-fraud-daddy here right? That should tell you how wrong you are cause I know you realize what a clown as piece of shit phonydaddy is?!?!?!!!

Face the truth you dumb S.O.B. Half of these kids would be in jail or worse if not for the colleges giving them a free ride for a few years and an entry into the NFL. Many of these kids could not get into college if it were not for football. Like yourself, they simply do not have the brains to do so. Injuries are a part of the game. If you are afraid of being injured, then you should not be playing, period. If I am an alum and am helping pay for a kid to play football (and that is what a scholarship is), then I want my money back if the S.O.B. decides not to play because he is afraid of getting hurt. You probably love every coward alive.

    Offensive Players Sitting Out

    • South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel: A big-play threat on offense and special teams, Samuel caught 11 touchdowns this season and led the Gamecocks in targets (97) and catches (62).
    • Arizona State WR N’Keal Harry: Harry has been as consistent as any wide receiver in the country, catching 213 passes for 2,889 yards in the last three seasons. The Sun Devils are 3-point underdogs to Fresno State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
    • Oklahoma State RB Justice Hill: Hill has been the Cowboys’ starter for three years and averaged at least 5.5 yards per carry in each of them. He missed the last two games because of injury and will sit out OK State’s bowl game against Missouri.
    • Iowa TE Noah Fant: Perhaps the top tight end in this draft class, Fant will be missed against an aggressive and physical Mississippi State defense in the Outback Bowl.
    • N.C. State WR Kelvin Harmon: Harmon led the ACC in receiving yards and was a reliable target for quarterback Ryan Finley and the Wolfpack’s excellent passing game. They play Texas A&M in the Gator Bowl.

    Defensive Players Sitting Out

    • Houston DL Ed Oliver: Considered one of the top prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft, Oliver will skip Houston’s bowl game against Army. The Cougars were average against the run this season (63rd in yards per carry allowed) but got gashed by Navy, another triple-option team, for 349 yards and 36 points earlier this season with Oliver healthy.
    • Michigan DL Rashan Gary: The No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2016 is NFL bound and will miss the Peach Bowl vs. Florida. Gary has 3.5 sacks and 38 tackles in nine games this season.
    • LSU DB Greedy Williams: Another likely first-round pick, Williams played just two seasons for the Tigers but had eight interceptions and 19 passes defended in his career. He’ll sit out the Fiesta Bowl against UCF.

    Key Bowl Game Injuries

    • North Texas QB Mason Fine: The Mean Green are 10-point underdogs to Utah State without Fine, who averaged 8.2 yards per attempt with a 27-5 touchdown to interception ratio this season.
    • UCF QB McKenzie Milton: The dynamic quarterback suffered a gruesome leg injury two weeks ago, but Darriel Mack Jr. looked good in his place against Memphis. The Knights are 7-point underdogs to LSU in the Fiesta Bowl.
    • Houston QB D’Eriq King: King was lost for the season in mid-November. Clayton Tune went 18 of 43 for 256 yards against Memphis to end the year.
    • Miami WRs Jeff Thomas and Ahmmon Richards: The Canes’ anemic passing game needs all the help it can get, but is without two of its best receivers against Wisconsin. Thomas left the team a few weeks ago, and Richards suffered a career-ending neck injury in October.
    • Utah RB Zack Moss and QB Tyler Huntley: Utah’s backfield starters missed the final four games, and the offense felt the effects in a 10-3 loss to Washington in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The Utes are -6.5 against Northwestern in the Holiday Bowl.

Possibly all of them besides North Texas, Fine passed for like 320 yards final game. Would have been nice if Action Network was more specific with that in those notes.

But then why stop at the bowl games? You could just as easily get injured in the conference championship, or week 12, week 11, week 10.... What kind of precedent does this set? I mean if we take this "logic" and run with it, you could have a kid who's draft value peaks around the 8th game of the year and maybe the "wisest" move would be to just shut it down from that point on.

There's always risk involved. Hell, every time you get behind the wheel of a car you could potentially lose your life but that doesn't stop people from commuting to work on a daily basis, even if it's a minimum wage job.

Whether the students are getting a raw deal as athletes is another issue altogether. The fact remains that under the current system they've agreed to play football (something they did for absolutely nothing as pee-wee players on through high school) in exchange for a free college education, a big ticket purchase that leaves many young adults in debt long after graduation.

It's like clocking out before you've completed your shift and expecting the full paycheck.

Eddy, 2daBank thinks he is running for political office. He is going to protect all of his minority buddies because he is a huge loser and thinks he can get people to actually believe him and like him. He is a worthless lying fool. He fails to mention that 85% of these kids would be in jail, the morgue, or working as some janitor because they are not smart enough to get into college without a scholarship. He fails to mention the fact that less than 10% of these kids ever play pro football, but when these money hungry selfish players decide not to play in a game, 100% of the team suffers. He fails to mention the fact that these players are nothing more than a bunch of selfish arseholes and could care less about anyone else except themselves. Like these people, 2daBank is a worthless lowlife that cares about only himself.

I never liked these guys sitting out of bowls especially since they are sitting on insurance policies (or should be). When will this be a trend that goes into the regular season?
