Bringing some excitement back to the program. However, he’s a has been and won’t be able to turn around the program again.

unc doesn't exactly recruit like texas where the boosters and built-in relationships do it for you

Mack Brown stresses his respect for Larry Fedora and says there will be no negative words to the players about the previous staff. Credits the team for never quitting this season despite the struggles. He has not spoken with Fedora yet.

set texas back for decades. No he didn't win a championship. That was all vince. Winston wanted to go to u.t. but he wouldn't recruit him. He would of got seafood for a hell of a lot less. Also our boosters pay better.

Texas has had 8 head coaches since 1950 and ones not named Mack or Darrell have a winning percentage of 61%. So I'm not really sure how one with a 77% winning percentage really set them back, but I have a feeling they're just a bunch of delusional idiots that think their mediocre ass program ought to be something that it's not.

He's being brought in to get the program back to respectability and turn over the reins. Say what you want about him but he's only had one losing season in his last 24 years and had more wins than any college coach between 2000 and his retirement. UNC ain't a football school, all we want is 7-8 wins and a trip to the toilet bowl to entertain us until basketball season.

As someone said the ACC coastal is horrible. We beat one P5 team all year and they are playing Clemson in the ACC championship. There is very little separation talent wise in the coastal. Most of our games were very close and we blew a lot of games late so it won't take much to get us back to mediocrity in our shitty conference. If he can get us where we were before he left for Texas, splendid. If not, most of us don't give a shit as long as we're remotely competitive and not embrassing like we are now.

Given our options and what we're looking for it's a home run hire. The only other option was take a chance on the mid major coach du jour and hope they actually turn out to be worth a damn. We tried that 7 years ago and it didn't work out so well. Mack's doing us a big favor actually and there is a lot of back story from his first run here. He never sold his house if that tells you anything.

And as far as recruiting goes, we're mostly competing with shit programs like NC State, Duke, ECU and Wake for 3* North Carolina boys and hoping to land a few 4s and 5s here and there. When the guy they've been watching on ESPN the last 5 years goes in against the other boring ass coaches in this state, he'll be able to close the deal pretty easily.

this is usually where i'd just call you a brokedikk dumb kid, but i'll explain it this one time

bill synder recruits the shit out of juco schools so he's moderately successful

unc, in theory, is a scholastic school (that's fake and they couldnt be worse, but now definitely have to play the role), so they don't have that option...they are doomed

He set us back because the blue chip players don't want to go here. Before mack they went to either texas or oklahoma. A few went to lsu. Now they go to texas am,baylor , tcu in state. Ohio st,florida ,okla, penn st and many of the major programs. You aren't a texas fan so may not understand. We are an after thought.
