Mom keeps asking if I'm gambling on these games. I just tell her it's fantasy football.

Gambling promotes isolationism and we feel best isolated and gambling. I actually got invited somewhere but do not know if I am going. I want to gamble all day and feel happy and hope by night I am down $200 and have the rush of digging out.

I should go with people and enjoy the day

    Happy Thanksgiving man
I checked my "mood" at the sportsbook door long, long ago.

Bought this AND posted it right before dinner tonight.

Had line watcher working, it triggered.

You gotta do what you gotta do, then post about it.

    Right?

JJ you're like what, 50? Been gambling for 30 years? And you still have mood swings and act like a dick around people if you lose money?

Time for a reality check man. You've seen it all, it shouldn't affect you that much anymore. I stopped doing that shit when I was 20 or 21.

Nothing wrong with a little emotion but misdirected anger is pathetic. Only teenagers should be forgiven for acting that way.

My family is well aware of what I do and understand that often the markets swell during the holidays. They understand the swells will overflow into other markets too. They understand that these can be very lucrative times for some of us value bettors and those seeking lines a bit stretched or out of whack.

This is why they understand that it is sometimes important to place bets and do some research during some family time.

Most research is done away from that, but when triggers are hit, I need to be on the phone and online. My wife talked a little about what it's like being married to a bettor when we were in Vegas.

Watching games isn't much of an issue either, if I deem it necessary to watch, but that carries a lot more flexibility and I rarely deem something necessary to watch.

It's a tough juggle sometimes and early on it was harder.

I still remember one Thanksgiving at the in-laws. I turned on my father-in-law's computer and tried to log into WSEX, the World Sports Exchange. I was going to trade those live contracts for T-Day Football.

I accidentally left off the "W" when typing the web address and didn't realize it as I let the page load. Doh!
