    Source "Confirms" Kevin Durant Will Team With LeBron As A Laker Next Year

    The noise surrounding a potential partnership between Kevin Durant and LeBron James is only growing.Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson reported on Monday that Kevin Durant is 'planning' to move to the Lakers and join LeBron James.

    Spoke to a source today who confirmed Kevin Durant will be a LA Laker next year.

    “Just like LeBron planned his move LA a year or more earlier, #KD is doing the same right now.

    They want to form the best duo in the NBA and set up KD to be the face of the Lakers post-    #LeBron.”



    This is not the first time we've heard this as a possibility as Stephen A. Smith suggested that James was lobbying Durant to opt out this season and join him on the Lakers.

    While the Lakers decision to waive Luol Deng saved them money but also made it nearly impossible for a Jimmy Butler trade, but Deng also waiving over seven million dollars will allow them to pursue Durant in free agency.

    There have been plenty of voices to the contrary, suggesting the partnership won't work or that Durant has his eyes on another big market such as New York. But there has also been just as much smoke surrounding the situation.

    At this time last year, the rumor mill was pointing to Paul George in a Lakers uniform before he eventually signed a long-term deal to stay in Oklahoma City. At the same time, the LeBron-to-Lakers rumors had about a two-year build up before it actually happened.

    It appears that there is a concerted effort from at least one side to make this look like a potential partnership next season in purple and gold. But as we've seen too many times in the NBA, every day is a new day.

    He went against James with a similar supporting cast in the Thunder/ Heat finals. He doesn't want to do it again, even with James gradually slowing down.

    Imagine if James/ Leonard/ Durant all ended up on the Lakers next summer. That really would be awful..... yet not that surprising. I could see Durant taking a massive pay-cut to make it happen

    Gonna go against the grain here -- this would be intriguing IMO.

    LeBron will turn 35 early in 2019-20, and he'll be in his 17th season. He's already #1 all-time in playoff minutes played. That's a LOT of mileage.

    Lakers would hardly be a lock to win it all unless they add a 3rd big piece. I think this would balance out the top of the league a bit. Lakers, Warriors, and Celtics all on somewhat equal footing
